No doubt. I see 8000 ft frequently but not like some of your passes.

I knew what I was getting into before I bought it. I figure between my wife’s 36MPG and my 14MPG, we’re sitting at a 25MPG average. I can live with that :p

Paid 2.68 at Costco in NC today. I hope y'all have a cost of living adjustment out West to cover those gas prices

I got my Limited TRD Pro Off road at the end of may and I'm averaging 15.5 mpg on the highway. Gas is appox $4.00 per gallon here in California

Gas isn't too bad here paid 2.74 for regular last week and for the Camaro it runs on premium only and that is 3.22.

I average 12-13mpg. I paid 2.69 at my last fill up. It’d be hard to swallow $5 a gallon in CA

There's a whole mess of impaired and or distracted drivers on the road. So, I justify my 10mpg as a life insurance cost for me and my family. Very thankful for the 38 gal tank under my tank.

The writing has been on the wall for a long time regarding gas prices and the not if but when swing it will take upwards. Anyone that is going to end up selling their Tundra because of gas prices going higher, has either had their head in the sand or has been in denial for a long time. Enjoy the truck, sell it if you have to, be happy about the good times you had with it.

I bought a beater for my 35 mile each way drive. 12 MPG in Cali isn't good. So I get 26mpg in the beater I bought for 1K. Just need 20 weeks to break even.

yes all must forge on because they made a decision when they bought it and because people's needs don't change after they buy a vehicle *sarcasm* o_O:boink:..... lol I'm not even saying I'm going to sell it necessarily. I might but it would have to be much more prolonged than the current as this is my favorite truck I've owned and its paid for. my reasoning is not just mpg in that decision as much as 1) I don't tow what I used to when I purchased. 2) I don't haul as much as when I purchased and needed a full-size bed 3) my main use for my tundra is now as an offroader and camping rig and home depot runner, which a midsized truck would be better suited towards , but right now I'm really just saying I don't like the direction gas is headed and it's hard to swallow filling a tundra up.... the mpg part of it is just added on top. it is allowed to own a tundra AND not like high gas prices right?? (Rhetorical question):boink: some of these responses are quite entertaining though lol:rofl:

What would your switch to? Tacoma and 4R get the same mileage as the Tundra, especially when set up for off roading. Ranger, Bronco and Colorado/Canyon are unlikely to be reliable. Ridgeline is unibody so not the best choice for off roading. Gladiator costs more than a Tundra (not sure what kind of fuel economy it gets) and is unlikely to be reliable.

Tbh idk lol. Never would buy a gladiator, canyon, colorado, or Ridgeline. thought about the bronco strongly until I found out they're effectively sold out for two years. Holding out hope toyota comes out with a revamped fj of sorts or the taco revamp is compelling with mpg improvement. The current gas thing would have to prove itself to last quite some time though if I did.

My Tacoma and 4Runner got 3mpg more than my Tundra so I’m sure he’ll get some mileage relief but not a whole lot. All vehicles had or have mild lift and slightly oversize tires.

I just filled up with 91 for the first time since I've owned the truck. I usually go with cheaper 87 and I'm surprised how much peppier the truck feels. 11mpg does still hurt, but my truck is paid off. I'm considering getting one of those hybrid Ford Maverick's for a daily driver and keeping the Tundra for the real truck stuff.

I actually have very seriously considered buying an old taco 4 banger 2wd for commuting and keeping the tundra and to be quite honest is prob most realistic of what I may do. Only issue is my house is starting to look like a weird assortment used car lot between my wife's my kids and my two vehicles we already have lol

If you already have a truck (Tundra), why commute in a different truck? Why not a car that gets 35+ mpg?

Go get you a rav4 and a 5x10 flat bed trailer. Build yourself a little 4x6 storage box that you can easily throw on the trailer for camping equipment. Empty trailer for the other stuff.
