Found this 2010 TRD supercharger, never installed, posted locally through FB marketplace...This feels like a unicorn...

    1. Does anyone know if this will fit a 2020?
    2. If I were to bring this to a dealer, on a scale of 1-10 how likely is it they would install?
    3. What should I offer to buy?

    Need everyone's expertise!

I'm pretty sure there isn't a tune available for anything after 2018 or 2019, but I could be wrong on that. Even if a tune were available, though, I don't think a dealer would install a used SC.

It will fit but it will need a tune which may not be available for the 2020s and above. Reach out to Magnuson to see if they have the supporting tune on the 2020s. Prior to 2019 they were using HP Tuners until they switch to OV Tuner; this is an issue for some folks.

Dealers used to install them most wont touch it though a few shops do support and warranty the installation, Sparks Toyota was one such dealership.

Price listed here is $7.2K but tuning installation shops often have sales if you are subscribed to them: https://www.magnusonsuperchargers.com/product-p/01-19-57-109-bl.htm
If I were purchasing this I would deduct the value of the tune and the 3Yr/36000 Mile Warranty Magnuson offers; the biggest sales I've for a Maggie was 15% putting you close to $6K

Right now the only option I know of for the 2020s is the Harrop Stage 1. It doesn't require a tune unless you go to Stage 2 (tuning isn't available for this yet)

The lack of warranty is a big one; personally I wouldn't buy it.

Keep in mind that does not include the fit kit which would also need to be sourced. I'd say $2,500 - $3,000 for the charger only seems fair for both sides.

    Alot of them
There is not a tune available for the 2020's. It's 2021 and they just released one for the 2019's.

This is what I was gonna say. The supercharger by themselves commonly pop up for $2k or so, it's all the other shit you need to find.

Wow, good to know. I thought they were more rare unless I'm thinking of the fit kit. Or maybe neither is as rare as I thought...

When I was looking for mine (more like convincing myself to do it) they would pop up on ebay and marketplace pretty regularly, I wouldn't say they were common but probably one or two a month I'd come across that was just the supercharger body and nothing else. People get in wrecks, or uninstall it, or part out a vehicle, etc. and don't bother (or know) all the support equipment that goes with it. Even mine that came with "everything" used was still missing a few parts like the oil cooler lines that I had to fabricate.

You can buy a new one delivered to your door for 6k all day long. I, personally, wouldn’t pay more than 1500 for the blower itself without the fit kit or warranty. Just my $.02

Looks like Magnuson increased their price. Used to be $6995.

So to summarize the feedback so far:
    1. I'll need a fit kit to make this work....(This feels like something that will be harder to come by given the supercharger has been discontinued)...Thanks @AZTundra
    2. This may not even work for my 2020 given a tune is not currently available (thanks @Tundra234)
    3. The supercharger body is not as rare as I had originally thought ( thanks @Saltyhero13)
    4. Magnuson is the way to go given price, availability, and warranty (thanks @Saltyhero13 @RLHOK )

I'll wait until I have enough cash to go the Magnuson route.

    Thank's ya'll!

@mbkiso use the above ebay posting as leverage and should be able to get a decent deal. Or at least much better than I suggested above. :anonymous:

@AZTundra I just don't think it's worth it to even negotiate if I can't source all the other parts needed. I am by no means mechanically inclined, so I wouldn't even know where to start with the ancillary parts I would need to source.

I wouldn’t do it. If you’re willing to spend the money on a supercharger, go Harrop and enjoy

Yeah, I'd agree this is probably the best way to go about it.

It will fit a 2020, but there is no tuning available yet. It can be made to work without a tune though, same way as Harrop stage 1 does it.
Toyota dealer will not install it for you.
The blower itself is worth around 2.5-3K being brand new in my opinion. You would also need the Magnuson fit kit for it, which costs approximately $3800 from SCOL.
I would only buy it if you know exactly what you are dealing with, all the installation and tuning nuances etc.
