Some states allow for it, others don't. You basically make a claim against his insurance for "diminished value" because your vehicle will now have a black mark on the carfax report - you're getting some of the value back that you would otherwise lose if you tried to sell the vehicle. There are independent adjusters who will do the appraisal and help with the process. You do it after the final numbers are in on the actual repair bill and it is a separate claim.

My wife's 2017 got wrecked about 6 months after we got it (new) - the total damages were ~$18k (on a $34k car...but the didn't total it). We went after $5k in diminished value based on the lost resale value of the vehicle and ended up settling around $3500.

So back in late April, I take my '19 Tundra in for an oil change. Big whoop right? Little did I know that when i made a joke to a young salesman... "What's it gonna take to get me in a Tundra TRD Pro Lunar Rock?"....that the joke was on me! He says...."Funny thing..." to which i say "Funny thing WHAT?" ......"Funny thing, guy just cancelled his order yesterday. Ordered it months ago for his son. Turns out the son enlisted and is shipping out and Dad is none too pleased about the news." "GET OUT".... "No kidding"...."And it isn't sold yet?" ....."We would have but our servers are down"...."What does that mean for me"...."Well...funny thing is we can do some good old fashion paperwork if you like".....SOLD! Paid my note on the '19 and payments only increased about 20 bucks. I should have gone out and bought a lottery ticket right then and there! Biggest reward is watching all the head turns from other Tundras. It wasn't lost on me what so ever that I landed the unicorn by pure chance...was meant to be. I wasn't UNhappy with my cement gray, 4x4, 2" Revtek suspension, blacked out tail lights on 35x12.5x20s......but it weren't no LR. Happy to be here in this exclusive club. My guess is COVID, Chip Shortages, and low inventory....these beefcakes are gonna be hard to find.

Does someone have the patience to either explain in laymen....or post a thread.....on what the hub bub is about the 38 gallon tank, only showin about 405 to empty. Do i understand correctly in my very small research that the gauge don't account for 38...only 32 tank? I can't say I buy into that notion...but hopefully someone can set me straight.

The tank is 38 gallons. It will ding low fuel alert with about 6 gallons left in reserve. You can keep going, but your "miles to empty" will show zero until you completely run out of gas. There's a ton of theories out there as to why they do that, such as it being there to cool the pump, or to ensure there is no cavitation or loss of fuel pressure when on a steep incline (or decline), to that they just have stupid engineers, but no one has a definitive answer. The only thing we know for sure is that you'll put 32 gallons in the tank if you fill it up as soon as the low fuel light goes off.

Coming from a 2008 that had a 26 gallon tank that would show empty with that same 6 gallons still in the tank, I'm ecstatic with the fact I've got 12 more gallons to "empty" than I used to. At 13.5 MPG that I had in that truck, it meant I was filling up every 4 days for my commute. Now I can stretch it through the weekends!

Your insight is MOST appreciated....thank you for taking the time to break that down. Its just funny how when you FIRST get her....she reads something ridiculous....like 600 somethin to empty and then BAM....405. Logic should have prevailed....she wasn't purchased for her FUEL efficiency. Thank the good Lord I mostly work from home now with the occasional 10 mile trip into the office!

    Thanks again Casey!

I've got 16k on my double cab and I'm consistently seeing 540ish+ miles on my full tank guesstimate. I think I'm getting close I that in reality too. I've seen the magical 20mpg average for a few tanks too, mostly when driving 50ish mph on hilly western routes and dirt roads. It's what the truck wants! More dirt roads!

Has anyone seen a Lunar Rock on a set of bronze wheels (like methods)? I haven’t been able to find one and wonder how it looks.

Thanks RainMan! Had a hunch bronze and LR paired looked great but have really only seen black wheels on them.

She’s arrived and we are pretty stoked. All cleaned up and a garage rearrange so she can fit.

I’m rocking some bronze wheels currently. Some times I love it but sometimes I think it clashes pretty bad. It depends on how the sun hits your car since this color tends to shift from darker to lighter toned depending on lighting.

Now thats a sight to see....by the company she keeps in the garage I'm intrigued that you broke the mold! Clearly a better choice but any temptations to go the other way?

just got my Ellis Precision shift knob in. I had one on my 2016 4Runner TRD Pro and I knew I had to get another when I picked up the Tundra. TEQ etched on the top. Looks great.

Too me I think it looks better when lunar is in its darker shade, when it’s lighter closer to that sea foam green it looks off to me

Damn. That blows. Were they deviating from the listed price? I imagine the person that bought it just paid list with a check.
