I know you said silver paint, you know you said silver paint.

Toyota marketing guys read it as: “The customers want very shiny chrome wheels, and giant chrome grilles.”

I'm not familiar with the trim hierarchy on Tundras.

    I thought TRD was TRD.

I believe I've seen pics of the Tacoma TRD something with a similar wheel in bronze.

My issue with the black wheels are many, however the fact that minivans offer black wheel packages kinda puts me over

Don’t tell them that you fool!

Now all they will offer will be chrome grilles.

Tacoma has TRD Off-Road, TRD Sport, and TRD Pro.
4Runner has TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, and TRD Pro.
Tundra has TRD Off-Road, TRD Sport, and TRD Pro.

Some of these are trims, and some are packages, there may be more with mixed packages and trims.

The pic I shared of the new Tacoma with a bronze TRD style wheel appears to be another trim called Trail. So, maybe that'll be a choice for the Tundra

Still give the f150 the advantage on fuel mileage mostly because of the aluminum body weight savings

That's interesting and sounds scientific, but I've never once noticed any appreciable decrease in mpg's when I load up wife, daughter, son, dog, beer, food, ski gear and 3 days luggage into the Tundra bed (with topper) and drive from our house in Northeast Denver (5k altitude) to any one of the ski resort's we visit at 10k elevation. Feel like it would have def gotten my attention if I was dropping sharply south of 14mg on these trips. Same scenario in summer just swap ski gear for camping...so temps don't seem a factor much either. Maybe I lucked out and got the "Golden Pony" of Tundras lol

Sorry if already discussed but will there be a longbed still? I've read the CM gets a longer bed but nothing on 8.1

8.1 bed on this new Tundra won’t be happening. Toyota needs to first work frame strength and towing capability.

    5.5 + CM = too short
    6.5 + CM = too long

How great would it be to steal about 3 inches from the current CM cab and add that plus another 3 inches for a 6.0’ bed with a CM cab that’s about 3 inches shorter? That would only extend the current truck by 3 inches. Seems kinda perfect to me.

6.5CM is the only reason I’m holding out for 2022 specs instead of buying an earlier year or another make.

I think they will offer a crew max with the 6.5 bed, but I think they are going to shrink the crew max cab a bit as well, who knows, they might even go so far as to only offer one cab size.

I think it's gonna be the same as it is now. They are having no issues selling every truck so I don't think they are going to change cab/bed configurations. Hopefully I'm wrong.
