That means it's moved to build and has a production VIN, so early congrats! Lots of variables including your location, but I want to say mine was maybe a month or less at this point to get from Texas to Port to Dealer in South Florida. Inventory Manager should be able to pull it up on Dealer Daily and give you the most current info (VIN, Build, Port, and Dealer ETA). The production VIN won't tell you anymore than what you already have seen on the My Toyota site.

Anyone have any insight on when they are stopping production of the current model year to switch over to the 2022?

I've wondered the same, but I don't think anyone here knows unless they work at Toyota. It's a funky year with a new gen coming, and shortages etc. Really anyone's guess.

September/October will have the last run of this current gen, 4th gen (new) will start full production at end of October.

TRD Pro's will finish by end of this month/August.

Where did you get this info? My dealer states my Pro will be delivered 6-8 weeks from now which puts me into the September time frame. The end of that window might be transit time though.

I don't work for Toyota, but my company deals with supply chains, so we know when something is stopping production (cause we gotta stop shipping those parts!)

don't forget after a truck is built, it takes up to 30 or more days to arrive to your dealer, there's quite bit of lag.

Toyota is going to build lower trims of current gen Tundras so dealers has some inventory, as new gen production will be mostly higher priced trims to start, delivery for new gen is probably end of November.

Very interesting. I appreciate the insight! Now i’m wondering when final production numbers for the 21 LR will be available. There have been numerous reports that the LR will be the unicorn and would like to see if that is true or not.

Just saw this on Toyota’s website, it appears you can’t get a tundra in lunar rock anymore. You can still order a Tacoma, 4Runner, and a sequoia in lunar rock though.

I'd be curious to know production breakdown between double cab vs crew cab. As well as state to state. Obviously people move but it would be interesting to know what one can expect to see in their own state.

DC’s maybe. But based on their previous production years it’s about 500 total per color

We’re at a high 70’s head count in here with some still not delivered. And I know off at least three LR’s personally that aren’t on this site.

They were all made in Texas. :D
As for actual selling dealer, that won’t mean much. People were buying them from anywhere they could. I was ready to fly to WI but just got lucky and there was one inbound to a dealer 80 miles north of me.

I just meant what were the numbers allocated per state. I fully realize people were snagging them from wherever they could. Mine was allocated to an Oregon dealership but my dealership dealer traded for the vin so it got delivered to me. The way they talked was the double cab Pro isn't a typical allocation for our region and they had to reach out for one. The crew max would have been an easier acquisition in Puget Sound area as thats what sells I guess...

Just put a hold payment on my LR today. Delivery by end of August I’m told.

Went to several dealers and many had them in flight or build still, mentioned it will be the last allocation of TRD Pros this year. Also several going as high as $8K dealer adjustment, I got mine at $3500 after a bit of negotiation. Most wouldn’t budge.

Definitely more than 100, double cab is probably least made since you can't order one in canada with lunar rock, I think rule of thumb is 1 in 7 is a double cab configuration, so out of 100k this model year (possible less) , you have 14k double cab, and you can only get it with double cab short bed, so maybe 10k double cabs all together, trd pro consists of 8 to 10% production, so you got upwards of 1k double cab trd pro for 2021my, and out of that 1k, say 20% chose lunar rock, you are at 200, at the low end, possible more and possibly less.

2021my definitely will be the lowest, probably barely break 100k , then about up to 10k units of trd pro, color choice break down will be even, so about 25% are lunar rock, that's at 2500 all together, minus the estimate double cab break down, about 2300 will be crewmax.

    This is all rough estimates.

I just put a $2500 deposit on an incoming Lunar Rock CM. I'm in SATX and it's in Maryland. Yeesh. I'm still debating on flying out and driving back or paying for shipping.

What was the dealer adjustment over MSRP? Feeling a little remorse myself, curious what others are dealing with.

    None. MSRP + TTL

My only gripe is it's lowly optioned. No bed liner, no rear usbs, no rear cargo lights. BUT I can do the USBs myself, dealer will do cargo lights and then I'll just line-x when it's here. But really wanted that "Tundra" liner stamp damn it lol

    Congrats.

What package/option gets you the rear usb and rear cargo lights?

From what I read they're options. So I'm just going to buy from the parts dept and have the dealer install. And the USB's they sell in parts and I can install those. Factory it is on the rear console under the cig lighter, but most just replace the cig lighter with them. I don't need the cig lighter, just the USBs.

Dealer just messaged me, gave me the wrong VIN and detail sheet. The new one shows the bed liner but no steps, which is good because I like a certain set.
