    Lots.
Wow, I guess the pandemic has everything backed up with shortages, etc. Almost every item I order for the truck has a wait time or is put on back order for a while.

    You just wait
I wouldn't say it was easy, but it wasn't as hard as when I put seat covers on my Nissan frontier. As far as I'm concerned there is no option but to unbolt the rear seats to put the seat covers on, I don't see how you could without unbolting. If you decide to get them I must give you a fair warning, they are warm seat covers. I find myself a little sweaty after anything longer than a quick errand. I'm sure in the winter it won't be so bad but right now it's definitely noticeable.

I know lots of folks had good experiences with them, but just know they come from Europe (I think) and take a while to ship. I ordered mine in December and have yet to receive mine. No big deal, not bashing them at all, shit happens, probably just lost in the mail. I was only out like $15 so I said screw it and just got the real deal caps from McGeorge.

I heard most parts are coming overseas. I live in SoCal and when I’m at the beach you can see a ton of cargo ships docked in the ocean waiting to unload. I’m sure our orders are sitting out at sea!

What was the process you used to reskin the center console lid? I’ve got the leather sitting in my garage, but haven’t started yet. What foam did use? What parts (if any) were glued down? What kind of glue? Etc.

That’s pretty killer work yourself there! Love the baseball idea. Looks like that ball is set for a two-seam fastball grip?!
Now you just need the Katzkins Rawlings leather seats!

The cover itself is vinyl. Got it off of Fleabay actually, here.

As mentioned, I first removed all the old vinyl and the thin factory foam and glue. It was a sluggy mess. I’m sure after a few years of seasonal temperatures, cleaning products, body oils, etc. the original foam had just about disintegrated.

I used a old squeegee that I used for vinyl to scrape off as much of the old foam and glue as I could. Any type of small, hard plastic scrapper would be fine.
From there, I just used Acetone (stole the Ms’s nail polish remover) to get the worst of the sticky off.
Then used 90% alcohol to help get any of the residue. Finally washed it with dish soap.

For any leather, vinyl or headliner wrapping, I’ve always used Weldwood contact cement.
The trick is, to always have clean surfaces, and work in small bits at a time. I’ve always taken my time and enjoyed the process…hence the beer I mentioned in the original post.
I’ve always used a cheap 1/2” or 1” paint brush to apply the glue. Apply it to each side, and let it tack up (about 5 - 10 mins) before pulling and pressing into place.

For the foam, I used a dense, closed cell foam. It’s from Creatology. They have some that has self adhesive on it. Don’t use it…it’s shit adhesive. Just get the regular sheets and glue it down.
I actually found some at Michaels. You might find it at Hobby Lobby as well. I can’t remember the exact type of foam, buts it’s the same stuff a lot of craft foam is made of, and some of the sectional floor pads you can get at Harbor Freight. Here’s a pic of the 1/4” sheet.
    image.jpg
I covered the whole thing with the 1/8” foam, then added a layer of the 1/4” on the top piece. Once everything was set, I used a new x-acto blade and went around the outer edges of the 1/4” piece to cut off the 90 degree angle so the top had a smooth curve to the side. You can gently sand it with 180 or 220 grit to smooth it out as well.

From there, start gluing down the cover.
I started on the center of the larger, surface area of the back, then slowly worked forward, one side at a time, about 3” sections at a time. I glued down the top surface first, then the sides. Taking care to line the stitching up with the edges.
Lastly, I tucked the edges around the under side. You may have to make some small triangular relief cuts as you pull and tuck the edges.

Check out Chechaflo on YT. This guy’s an old master at leather wrapping. A lot of the techniques in this video are what I used.

You can get automotive vinyl relatively cheap. Get yourself some and practice wrapping it on a piece of scrap wood. You’ll fine it usually acts much like real leather in that it will stretch one way more than another.

    Good luck with it!

I punctured the sidewall of my 1,254 mile old tire . Thinking of having the spare mounted and buying a cheaper tire to use as a spare. Any issues w that? Seems logical, but just want to make sure I’m not missing something.

Finished up a minor detail on my LT headers install.
Also modified my TRD tailpipes into after axle dumps so the leaf springs would stop hitting them at full droop.

    Lots.
You are correct more than you know, and that's funny, because it is exactly what I do! Spend seven months or so each year on ships delivering cargo all over the world. Then come home and install all the parts that I ordered for my truck while I was away at sea, at least the ones that got delivered on time.

Yep, pretty easy. All you have to do is pull up the whole center console from the back compartment area with a plastic pry tool. Put the leather boot on and put center console back on. Nothing has to be removed or altered.

I drive mine to work on Fridays and over the weekend otherwise it sits in my driveway and collects dust which gets washed off every Friday after work. It does get driven though, 7500 miles since I got it in March.

Life changes and the truck has gone through a lot. At one time I was filling up once a week, now it may go 3 months on a tank. If I bought my vehicles based on how much I'd use or what I'll use it for I'd change vehicles 2 to 3 times a year. Best part about a pickup - it'll sit in a driveway, it'll run errands around the city, it'll take a day trip to the mountains, it'll haul quads, and it'll pull a travel trailer. One vehicle that'll do anything I would need one for.

i figure that since it’s now basically legal to run meth as long as you don’t deal too much of it, are they really going to pull you over for front window tint?

well maybe if you’re drag racing a titan or something *cough*
