Limited crewmax stock suspension

I just took delivery of my 19 crewmax limited. It looks to have a leveling kit.

Front springs are red and the rear shocks say fox on them. Is this stock? This isn't a TRD or off-road version.

 

Pics will help to know for sure, but you might have a set of the TRD PRO shocks. The regular TRD off-roads are blue/yellow bilstein shocks with black springs.

It almost looks leveled too. It's got tinted windows, and shin killer nerfs too.

 

Ah, ok, those are not anything that came from Toyota. You've got an aftermarket suspension there. If you google BDS Suspension Fox, you'll see bunches of results.

 

Looks pretty good. Those steps look like the Predator Steps that Toyota sells as an accessory.

 

I hope that's a good thing lol. Didnt say anything on carvana about it. I also noticed a small shimmy in at 55. Discount tire fixed that no problem and let me know the front tires weren't stock.

 

Carvana usually provided free carfax. I'd pop that up and see if it has maintenance records that indicate suspension work. You might be able to talk to the shop that did it. Could have been done by the owner too.

From your pics it looks like a Fox 2.0 kit, and it should definitely be a better ride than the stock ones would have been.

 

Nope, nothing in the carfax. I scoured it looking for anything. It only showed Window Tint being installed.

I also found out that the PO put LED fogs in... not just bulbs, but what look like factory type LEDs. I was going to install some yellow JDM ones.

 

That's a nice surprise to find when buying a used truck. Wish mine came with upgraded suspension that the dealer didn't know about.

 

I keep seeing 50 buck and wondering "who the hell is this guy?" I generally know all the regulars and I keep forgetting its you.

I just wonder if that's why it has different front tires... ie, they didn't get an alignment after all the suspension mods and wore the tires quickly.

when I take it in for the fuel pump recall I will have them check alignment as well.

 

Very well could be the cast. Might have had bad tire wear when Carvana got it, so they replaced the front tires as part of their inspection. Is there a way you can contact Carvana to ask if they performed an alignment on the truck? If they can't confirm that they did an alignment, then I would be for getting it done sooner rather than later. An alignment is cheaper than tires.

 

Also, they had the tire pressures backwards... 35 in front and 30 in the rear. That's opposite from what I read on the door jam.

 

Ah, maybe they had two people doing the job. One that figured they'd move the old tires to the front and put the new tires on the rear because they take more wear, and then another who just threw them on the front to get the truck out the door.

 

When you get alignment, make sure you get the print out. Some places will say they did it but then you see the print out and your still in red on some of them and they then tell you they weren't able to get it fully aligned. I've had places tell me the printer isn't working but it's in all green then I take it else where and it's all out of whack. That's when I realized I needed UCAs on my 4runner.

 

Took a closer look at the front suspension. It is trd pro . Starting to look like a better deal all the time.

 

Yeah, that's a solid upgrade!

 

Now pop the hood. Maybe they accidentally installed a supercharger too.

 

Well,I found led under body lights too that turn on with the interior lights when you open the door

And black letter inserts on the tailgate. I thought that was stock

No sc though. Bummer.
