I have a question concerning the turn signal flasher removal. I read somewhere but can't remember where or maybe I dreamed it:) that the hazard warning flasher and the turn signal flasher are the same flasher, does anyone know the answer? I have attached a photo of what the flasher looks like in the 06. The flasher seems to have been Zipp tied in, why would that be done like that? Is it okay to cut the zip tie, undo the connecting cable and just pull it out?

Has anyone had any hyperplasia issues on an o6 where upgrading all the exterior light to LED's?
I use SuperBrightLEDS and they want pictures of all the bulbs plus the flasher so that then can make sure Ihave the correct LEDS for this truck. As always I welcome anyone's advice or help. I have learned and completed do many projects just by asking questions here, so thanks so much, salute!

That's not a flasher. It's an alarm impact sensor.

Yup, looks like an alarm shock sensor.

Turn on a turn signal or the 4-ways and follow the sound.

You're in the right area, just point the camera up. The relay should be the same blue color. I had issues with my 05 when I tried to cheap out and get some sylvania LEDs. I changed the relay, but it didn't help. The bulbs weren't setup to be on + turn. VLEDs has the appropriate turn signals. They're not cheap, but you can catch sales around most major holidays(next weekend maybe).

The relay for that was red on my 06 and beside the interior fuse panel. I swapped mine out for the diode dynamics smart relay. My wife’s sequoia got one also. Cool thing about it is the programmable flash patterns

I just checked their site, they offer two different for non-dtrl, which one did you use?

There's a 'smart' one that has a lot of convenience features, and a 'dumb' one that just helps with hyperflashing.

I was warned by their team that my truck wasn't supported because I have daytime running lights - different plug-in or some crap. Speaking of which, I should go down and confirm that. I want the smart one for the convenience-flash feature alone.

Here’s a bulb list for my tail lights. I can get you a list for the interior, third brake light, and switch backs up front if you need them

So my 06 has the drl’s too. I just unplugged mine under the hood. I’ve been meaning to hook them back up and see what happens but haven’t done it yet. I’d assume your 06 has drl’s also. Those smart taps work on the double cabs but the access cabs use a different relay

No DRL just a very simple truck, so I should be okay with DD standard 10.00 flasher I hope, thanks for your thoughts.

Should be good to go with the standard. If your still deciding on where to buy bulbs, I personally recommend diode dynamics. They’re customer service and shipping turn around times are awesome. I did use GTR for their reverse bulbs, those things are ridiculous bright.

Only thing I would do if I were y'all. Pull your existing flasher. Make sure to cound the pins and compare to what's pictured at DD's site (8 pins). Else you're throwing money at something you can't use.

I looked at the "Smart Tap" also, just more bells & Whistles than I need, it was awesome to see what a flasher can do for a vehicle. Great for parking on the street, can't miss it, well somebody would and crash your truck anyway, you just can't fix stupid, salute!

OK, I found the flasher. How do I get it out? It seems like it's locked in somehow. Is there a tab holding it in. I don't want to break it off. Thanks

There's a tab holding it into its place, and the harness plugs into it. I had to look carefully at it, which is difficult in its awkward position, and use a plastic spudger to pop the flasher out. I kept the harness attached so I had something to hold and exert leverage with. It's weird the first time you do it.

Thanks Shifty, I figured it out and ever6works with my new LED Flasher
Thanks Shifty, figured it out and everything works as it should with my new LED Flasher. I swear it took me longer to do this than change all the lights out. Next challenge is how does this clear clip separate so I can put it on the new flasher and clip it in. All this thinkin' is tough on an old man. I believe you're going to be pushing up in the direction of the arrow on that red tab while pulling the translucent piece toward you.
