Other Toyota model changes haven’t done it so I wouldn’t expect a huge price increase. They tend to keep their platforms for a very long time and recoup the $$$ over a long production run.

Well first, I'm not sure If I'm going to get a Pro if it means waiting an extra three months for it. Second, I will not pay more than MSRP. If it comes down to it, I will walk away.

This dude ain’t paying 5k or even 1k over MSRP for any vehicle... I can wait and my money means more to me than throwing it out the window on a car or truck... it’s not like they are a limited production vehicles... be smart and wait!

cool, I was just curious how much over MSRP all the guys are willing to go who are "in-line" already.

Im leaning towards a non-hybrid platinum 4x4 if I like the test drive and overall truck and can get teh color match all done (that stock grill has to go). I could maybe see MSRP if they give me a over-inflated trade in value on my current rig I keep hearing about. If normally getting 3K under MSRP but now its MSRP but they will give me 3K more for the trade, then I think something like that would work.

Ive seen values for my current truck in stock form as high as 40K, lol. thats nuts.

    A bunch
Ford hybrid is around 500 lbs in weight, so add that to the payload sticker. Yet to see on the Tundra how much the hybrid powertrain weighs.

And after hearing Mike Sweers answer questions it's hardly a surprise the payload didn't go up significantly. His first major directive that the new Tundra had was to 'not ride like a truck'. Not riding like a truck and high payload do not go together, unless they were to put the entire cab on an air ride suspension like found in heavy equipment and semis.

I think that's only to level the load in the rear though right? its not like a air ride Ram or something where its front and back and for overall ride quality.

I think its the same as like my old man used to have in his sequoia, rear only, level the load only. you can lower and raise the rear only in limited situations.

I dont think its a full air ride like Ram

I wonder why they went with a cigarette lighter type outlet up on top of the dash rather than a USB. I dont even have anything that runs like that much anymore

Yeah hearing him say that was disappointing and in let me know this new gen won't work for me. I need my truck to be a truck not a sedan with a bed which is what this gen 3 has turned into. Good news is the market they are chasing they should be really successful at it, the others will move on to other brands.

I agree, they missed it by not having a generator like the F150.

Let me preface this by saying Toyota will obviously be releasing specs in the coming months prior to the 3rd Gen sale. I'm obsessed with numbers and have noticed some of the YouTube channels who were at the unveiling event got to see some door stickers. For example, TFL Truck looked at a 1794 crewmax long bed and the GVWR was 7330 lbs and payload listed at 1270.

This got me wondering, what other numbers have been "leaked" from the press event? Have y'all seen similar clips where other '22 Tundra trims/configurations are displayed?

    https://youtu.be/Xz8sE9fswUg?t=728

I'll start hunting for details and compiling a list but am curious to see what other numbers you may have seen (or better yet, something direct from Toyota that would show weights/payloads/towing)

What if you special ordered the truck? Does that take you off the 'list' of their allotment and put you into a category of your own?

Supposedly I am on a list to place a special order. I made it clear that I want to pick and choose everything not just be first in line to buy whatever they are allotted

My plan is to go to 3 dealerships and place an order with each. Whichever gives me the best deal is who I buy from.

GVWR is available, but not sure how this correlates to each available model (Limiteds, SR5, etc.). No payload in the manual.

I’m not saying Toyota removes stuff to fudge the numbers, but stock payload is supposed to be 1520-1730. I think my door sticker is 1240 with another sticker saying it’s reduced by 83 lb. The only things added were spray on bed liner and steps. That’s a pretty big difference from advertised numbers.
