I almost can't believe I already resolved the busted glass problem I mentioned here last week. I stumbled on a barebones listing on FB and as it turned out, it was an ATC cap off a 2011 DC Tundra, it was five miles from my house, and the guy only wanted $200! Color doesn't match, but that doesn't bother me right now. I actually like the profile of it more than the Century cap, and it has slide side windows which are an upgrade over the crank style ones of the Century, and most importantly, solid back glass

No but needed to Machine the factory wheels. There’s a small ridge in the wheel pocket that’s needs about 1/16 taken off.

    FYI,

BORA also makes a 1" wheel spacer that doesn't require any trimming with factory aluminum wheels that have the "pockets". It's what I'm running. I had 1.25" spacers before, but too much crap being thrown on the side of the truck.

I’m pretty new to bed caps but trying to do my research. If I have a power lock on the cap glass door, is it necessary to also have a power lock on the tailgate? In other words, is the cap lock secure enough to prevent tailgate access?
    I appreciate all opinions.

You can still manually lock the tailgate...

Thanks and sure. Just lazy and prefer the cheapest, but still secure, power lock situation.

I’m looking at a Leer XR 100 so I think the cap will prevent the tailgate from opening. Thanks for the comment.

I went with the cheapest option: manual locks on the tailgate and cap.

My Leer cap does extend over the tailgate so I think it would hold it shut but I haven't tested it out of fear of breaking something.

I'm 100% positive I could force the tail gate down pass the cover piece on the back glass.

Mine would open with enough force, but it would do a lot of damage to the cap/window/latches. Locks are only deterants anyway. I always lock the tailgate if I'm going to lock the glass if only to protect the cap locks.

I leave it unlocked most often. Its rare that I have anything of value in the back.

I'll echo that, gotta lock the tailgate. wouldn't take much to force the tailgate open with the topper locked

It would also bust up your topper window/latches pretty bad. that would be expensive to fix I imagine. Keep the tailgate locked
