So far I am LOVING so much of my new 2021 trd pro. I love the exhaust so much more than I thought I would, it’s literally perfect. Ride quality is great on the road. Looks incredible.

I only have one gripe so far….I can’t get comfortable in the seats and my back is starting to hurt. I don’t have back issues or anything but the seats just don’t seem to adjust right and are crazy stiff.

I was going to get a seating pad to see if that makes a difference.

anyone do anything to make the seats more comfy? Do they just need to be broken in?

Try the seat riser, I've always had issue with toyota/Subaru seats, they lack lower back support or the lumbar support is made out of concrete, the risers allow you to adjust thigh taller so your lower back is more align with the lumbar, its not perfect, but short of get the seats redone, it's a quick and cheap solution.

WOW! I didnt think of this, thank you so much! Ill give this a whirl.

I got a little cushion for the seat and it actually helped alot for back pain but I still feel like I am going to slide off the seat at times so will def look at these risers.

You can get seat risers from desertdoesit.com. They made a huge difference for me.

My 1794 seats are comfy for short periods but I hate them for long drives. It’s like a flat wide couch cushion without enough bolstering. They got alittle better after break in and the leather is super nice but def not my favorite seats.

It helps a lot, and for $60 and 30mins, it's a worthwhile thing to do.

I blame it on the choice of cushion, wife's 4runner is worse for comfort on long drives, I even looked at replace the whole thing with a Recaro or scheelman, but the airbags issue kinda prevent me from pulling the trigger, will most likely get the cushions redone with memory foam and ask them to increase bolster slight bit, also seem lot cheaper than getting a Recaro ortho seat.

I would think it's just a matter of making the right adjustments. With the 10 way power adjustment there's a lot of options, it's taking me while to figure out what works best.

Maybe I need to drive it to test it. I tried adding the wood block size today just to see sitting in the seat and did not really feel much difference. I did adjust the lower part seat to bring it up more. That seem to make a difference.

Definately poor seat design. I don't advise anybody drive a truck similar to mine for 14 hrs. I literally had to buy a set of crutches at my destination. Also bought a gel pad. Second time around I used a few different pillows and changed positions often, that was nearly a 30 hour drive. So sore afterwards!! Seat really sucks!!

They really do suck, Subarus were worse, I blame it mostly on the lumbar support being made out rocks, going talk to upholstery shop on re-cushion the seats with better foams, the seats in my 5 series was probably the most comfortable seats ever, going to see if they can graft that onto the Tundra's frame, I drove from Toronto to NYC and back before in my 5 series, no backpain, no stiffness.

An inverted 5 gal. Bucket would make a better seat than what is in my truck!

it can be use as a toilet too! aka lug-a-loo.

I was disappointed to find out new Tundra lumbar still doesn't allow up and down.

Got to bump this thread after inactivity since it's the same issue I'm having. Purchased a 2019 TRD Pro earlier this summer with 52k on the ODO. Gorgeous truck, but after a couple months and 4k miles I despise these seats. I've put seat jackers in (which certainly helped) and tried all sorts of position combos, but nothing works. Lumbar is also positioned way too high.

For reference I'm 6'3" and about 200lbs. It seems like Katzkins are the answer to the seat problems... has anyone else gone this route in the past couple years and been satisfied with the result? Merely acceptable or night/day difference? Interesting that these garbage seats seem to mainly be a problem for taller guys, such a shame that they're ruining an otherwise perfect truck for me.

I’m fed up with my driver seat in my 16 TRD Pro. So here I am happy that I’m not the only one.

I’m at the point of trading trucks, I like this truck. However cannot love it because the seat sucks.

I am 5-10 and a leaner 200lbs. I honestly feel too small for the seat.

I slide all over, basically sit on plywood and don’t like driving any distance in it.

Maybe I’m looking for an excuse to change trucks, but I really thought this was my forever truck. I will not deal with this seat forever.

Leg position doesn’t seem to matter, so I don’t think the seat jackers will help.

I don’t want to do a seat swap as they never seem to be right.

    just chiming in my $.02

I’m 6’1” 180 and I love my seat jackers from day 1. My seat bottom is still adjusted so the front of the cushion is at its highest position with the spacers.

I’ve seen posts here and over on the MUD forum about seat jackers. I just don’t see how raising the front of the seat up approx 1” makes the seat more comfortable. I definitely understand it can help seating position, however I’m still going to be sitting on a piece of plywood with cork board on it. I can see this being a benefit on long drives. As soon as I get in mine and put it in gear I’m uncomfortable. First world problems.

The early gen2 seats are for sure softer “squishier” than my seats. I can’t say I have sat in one long enough to know otherwise.

I keep thinking I need to just post mine online and see what happens. Put a number on it and let it go if it goes. Then find something to replace it.

overall I like the truck, the seat sucks. Maybe it’s my skinny ass and low back mechanic problems.

I have cloth seats + Wet Okole in my Tundra, they are better than "leather" in wife's TRD PRO Sequoia. Both are worse than real leather orthopedic seats in my old Volvo. But Tundra seats are so large that you can wiggle your butt around and be more comfy at the end of long run than any seat that fixes you in comfort without much degree of freedom, like Volvo does. It's just about blood circulation. I can easily spend 4 days driving 9-10 hours a day in Tundra without adverse effects on my spine hernia. So the Tundra seats are worse, but better =)

If you doubt seat jackers, unbolt the front brackets and place about a 1"shim under them and have a seat for a few minutes. The difference is a big improvement. Yes, they still suck, but the factor is substantially reduced by the angle change. Good luck!

It's the angle of the seat (front is lifted up), so the sliding forward affect is mitigated, and you end up w/support under your hamstrings so you're not driving around supporting your seated position by applying tension to your legs (which is where the pain comes from for most of us on long rides)....

Here's the beauty of it; buy them and try them... If they don't fix your problem sell them on here for 10% off what you paid for them; no risk!!!
