I asked toyota this, I said if I bring a truck in with snapped axles, you're gonna look at the fact that I have a 6" suspension lift, and say that caused it almost 99 % of the time correct, he said most likely. Toyota then said if they install the lift, they will still honor the warranty, however, they will not due a 6" lift anymore due to having to modify the cross member of the truck, too much liability. If you read the fine print in their warranty cheap, it states anything other than factory will void it.

your truck isn't a 1980 chev. cut the skid plate, push the wheelwell plastics in and do a cab mount chop.

It's rubbing trimmable plastics, the other part of my thread is I was going for a certain look/height, not only fitment

Bro, I just went into To get my recall done Friday and they had a brand new Sr5 lifted with a Ready Lift 8 inch lift with 37 tires on 20 in Fuel wheels and Toyota did the lift.. they can't do that and tell you they can't do a 6

That's interesting. The warranty I'm referring to is the certified used warranty, I'm going to forward this on to who I talked to and see if someone got it wrong, that thing is bad ass, thank you

the look you're going for is a drop bracket lift (the kind you explained earlier in the thread) and it is probably the best route to go if you're not happy with the standard 3" suspension lift when it comes to fitting tires and making it look the part.
also, you're not confined to one toyota dealership. if yours won't install it find one that will.

if im not mistaken - because this is sold by the dealer, the warranty is still intact

if i wanted this truck bad enough id pay the markup to preserve the warranty..

but then again theres a cost for anything if you want it bad enough

I fired this conversation off to the toyota dealer to see what their response is. Seems a bit weird that they said they won't install a 6" but then I see this.

My local dealer wouldn't do that on a truck I was looking at a few months back.

In fact, none of my local dealers would. Not sure the logistics behind why some do and some dont....

If you want it bad enough under those parameters - look regionally for dealers that do...

The way it was put to me was the dealer is the one that has to submit any warranty work to the toyota Corp. So maybe you're right, if u can find a dealership that's on board, they may be ok, then again, If I didn't buy the truck from then, maybe they will refuse it.

    exactly..

think about it.. how could they sell a truck with no warranty? I am sure they could in a rare case.

There was a time my nearest dealer sold Tundras with a "Rocky Ridge" branding

    https://www.rockyridgetrucks.com/

I actually talked to the guy in Georgia that runs this place back in the day, and he said they have a contract with the dealer to take these off the line, customize them, then ship to the contract dealer for sale.

I havent seen any of these trucks at that dealer for a while.. Perhaps there have been recent issues.. who knows

Here is the one I almost bought.

For a ~3" lift, no, but it couldn't hurt.
For a ~6" bracket lift, yes.

It lowers the center of the two-piece driveshaft , where the U-joint is, to provide safer angles for the shaft to the third member -- especially for articulation.

FYI, a few dealerships have said yes the warranty will still be good, when I ask to get it in writing their tune changes, here is the latest response....

BDS , Ready Lift both have 5 year 60k mile warranty on parts.. they are very good with their reputation.. also, they have to still cover parts unless they can 100% say it was caused by the lift.. someone told ,e about some Magnuson Law.. look it up

I'm not concerned about the lift failing, I'm concerned with the truck failing. I'll look up that law but I still come back to what toyota said, anything other than factory will void warranty. That sweet little statement is the dagger
