    Hi/Lo everyone

I love the stock michelin's smooth ride, but it looks awful when my mtb tires look bigger and more aggressive than my truck tires

Looking to add 275/70/18 Toyo AT3 or Nitto Ridge Grapplers tires.
I have a 2020 SR5 TRD OFFROAD, keeping stock suspension no mods.
Added front & rear TRD sway bars, and TRD skid plate.

Am I going to have any rubbing issues with this setup?
Which tire would you go with?

i personally want to try the toyo at3 and think they're the better tire, i'm curious to hear actual experience from those who've had both.

    Thanks in advance

I have the 275/70/18 Ridge Grapplers. They started very quiet but have gotten a decent bit louder after the 30k mark. I believe I am around 40k miles now and am actually looking to swap them for 295/70/18 Toyo Open Country AT3s next. Not because they are better, but I'd like to give them a try. Ridge Graps have been great overall. All tires get louder as they age and I expect no different from the Toyos.

For reference I have also run Nitto Trail Grapplers and BFG KO2s.

    Also I have a stumpy :)

Do you live in an area where there is lots of wet and snow? AT3s are 3 peak rated, RG is not. Tread design of AT3 has more siping, so would be better in wet, snow, ice, likely a better road tire overall.

AT3 has 50k mileage warranty and is less expensive. RG- didnt see any mileage warranty for them in 295/70

So, AT3 would be my choice between the two.

I've run both and would say the Toyo AT3 hands down. The RG's got ridiculously loud but the AT3's are still quite.

Very nice! It’s an awesome bike just got it recently.

Did you have any rubbing issues with 275/70/18 RG on the stock suspension setup?

I live in texas so we don’t see very much snow, but it does rain a lot with icy roads. Rain traction would be a plus in this climate.

Ride quality and noise between the two?

Can't help there - I did Bilstein 6112s in the front for 2 inches of lift.

My truck has stock suspension, stock OR wheels and 275/70s fit without any issue or rubbing. I run Wildpeaks, which run a little larger than other brands in that size, 33.43 inches tall. You will have no issues running that size on stock truck with stock wheels. Aftermarket wheels with less + backspacing may rub the liner or flaps some. 285/70s will fit a stock truck and I am pretty sure I remember seeing 295/70s on a stocker, but those tires were really stuffed.

I had to trim the stock (nonTRD) skid plate to clear the inside edge of the tires during sharp turns.

I’ve heard the most recent models have a stock skid that doesn’t stick out as far as they used to so may be a non-issue.

Toyo and Nitto are sister companies, so essentially the same manufacturer in terms of quality of the tire. (Think Subaru BRZ vs Toyota FRS/GR86). Tread pattern/wear could vary across the A/T vs Hybrid A/T|M/T. I am on my second set of Ridge Grapplers and have enjoyed them-which is why I stayed the same (33’s to now 35’s). Toyo/Nitto also both make 33x11.5 and 35x11.5 in some wheel sizes which is nice for width clearance with stock uca/factory offset wheels.
Not that you were looking at them, but the Ridge Grapplers are far quieter than Goodyear duratracs I ran on my old 1st gen tundra

So i ended up going with Nitto RG since they had 275/70/18 in stock and Toyos were 6 weeks out.

Far exceeded my expectation thus far with on road manner and looks. Very happy with decision thus far. Fitment for 275/70/18 was perfect, no rubbing issues at all!

Nice looking tire, but that quite ride goes away in about 15k miles. Then they get progressively louder. I ditched mine when they got to 76 db with plenty of tread left.

The toyo at3 were my 1st choice but i’m curious to see how the RG hold up. I’m thinking tire size has lots to do with it as well, i’ve heard many getting 40-50k miles with proper rotation and maintenance. I live in the south and everyone raves about them here, in the norther climates the toyo at3 are much better fit
