    Hello everyone,
In the near future I will be installing a complete OME suspension lift with the Dakar leaf springs on my 2017 Crewmax. I am trying to decide if I should remove the rubber bushing that comes already installed in the leaf spring from OME and replace it with their poly bushing. I’m a bit worried that replacing with the poly bushing might make an already firm suspension (from user accounts/reviews) to firm. What do you all think about poly vs rubber bushings for leaf springs? Any thoughts on the ride quality with either bushing? Anyone out there with the OME lift that went poly and wish they hadn’t? Thanks in advance everyone.

Use the rubber, will be a bit softer and is already in there. Poly is harder and will transfer more vibration, less flex if you offroad. Poly has its place, good for racing application or other uses where you want to firm things up a bit.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah that was what I was thinking as well but all the install videos out there seem to have them switching to the poly bushing. I would think the poly bushing would contribute to more bed bounce?

They dont give like rubber. Like I said, some like that extra firmness. But your rubber bushings are new and already installed, so rock em!

The rubber bushing is pressed in. The poly bushing moves freely. Yes, rubber has more cushion but not when it’s a pressed in bushing with a rubber insert. Swapping to a poly bushing on my leafs improved ride quality.
