Because of the current supply chain issues, there's not much you can do about the wait. I'm just glad I got it before the winter rains here settle in for good.

I was very interested and going to order the same cap as yours, but Leer 100XR deliveries were much more reasonable at 6-8 weeks, so I went that route instead.

I joined the cap club. Lucked out and found a Leer XQ only a few hours away.

The other day it was pouring out when I left a job and had 3 Vetos out on a driveway with a few solid inches of water sitting on it and at that moment the waterproof bottoms were my favorite feature for sure! Otherwise they are really tough but too pricey, too heavy and the pockets are just too damn tight even though they have been making them a while and could have made adjustments there by now a few times?

My favorite ones end up being the open cargo bags really and they are also by far the cheapest to buy too!

But they are still the most watertight that are easily obtained so I keep adding them.

    **NEED HELP**

I just got my Leer cap installed yesterday, but I think they might have wired the dome light incorrectly?
The shop said it was tied to my cargo bed light. Is that normal?
However, the kicker is that the cap's dome light only has power when my headlights are on. So the on/off feature is only usable if the head lights are running.

Can anyone shed some light on this subject for me? (pun intended)
If you have a dome light in your cap, what is it connected to? Does it have power running to it at all times?

    Thanks in advance!

The old friend. Sorta wish I had kept this guy. Had been all over the rez, had hauled literally a few thousand dogs to a better life.

The new guy. So far so good, but I do miss the big box shell. It made everything so easy. With the months-long delay for new shells, I was happy to find this perfectly-matched ARE on a local Facebook sale board.

It is wired correctly and will only power when lights are on. If you want it to power on when ignition is off you would have to run it to a constant power source such as straight to the battery. When I had mine I wired it to the tail lights and it would only work when lights were on.

My old f250 was like that cause installers did not pull power, went to different place for the Tundra and they pulled power from battery.

Got my Leer 100 XR yesterday after 6 weeks - not too bad in todays' delivery environment. So far so good but I have to admit I'm a little disappointed in the fit of the windoors within their frames. Guess I'm spoiled by Toyota quality.

After closer inspection, I think I see why my windoors don’t look even inside the frames. When the cap is tightened down at the front and rear of the side rail, the lower base of the cap (what sits on top of the truck bed) is bowing a little in the center. This bow in the lower cap is then warping the windoor lower frame, pushing it upward in the center. Fix? Add another clamp in the center of the cap to bed rail…but this should have been done by Leer, not me.

I bet you had it installed by a Dealer and not Leer? Just call and tell them and I bet they fix it.Did you try that yet?
A lot if them just tighten the clamps without even paying attention and from your pics I cant see what you see but it is a common think probably.

I just had it installed yesterday and looked more closely tonight. Yes, a dealer installed but I’ve checked that the clamps aren’t over tightened and they are Ok. The reason I stated Leer is because this warping doesn’t appear to be dealer install related. It’s not a show stopper and the windoors close, but the drivers side windoor does rub the lower frame when closing. I guess it’s warping due to the front and rear clamps, but it could be related to the fact that the windoor frame isn’t strong enough to prevent any movement in the glass cap lower section when the large hole is cut for the windoor in manufacturing. Anyhow, I’m not sure if this rabbit is worth chasing. I may just live with a little imperfection as it matches everything else I own!

I know what you mean but I think these always had 6 clamps before the silly short beds became the norm and they likely can still use all 6 to do the job well?

We’ll, Leer has only 4 small extended points molded into the cap lower base and where it attaches to the bed rail. I would have to rig something to add the new center clamps, but not impossible to figure out. I may temp. rig and test it first with a block of wood and a 6” metal clamp to see if that makes any difference.

    Interesting
They used to have a thick rail piece running the entire length of the base so that you cold clamp anywhere along its length/ That change must have saved them a dollar maybe to take away functionality if I understand you correctly.

I would still take it to the dealer and let it be their problem since it is new and in warranty I imagine, but thats just me.

I've had a Leer 100XQ on/off (on in winter/off in summer) my old Silverado 2500HD since 2009. That one only came with four clamps and I never had any alignment or warping issues. Sounds more like a problem with the mold when the cap was made.

That or when they chop out the holes for the widows they do not do it with any real precision,I have seen several of these myself like that.

Sure. It makes sense to at least bring the problem to their attention and see what they say or do.
To me, the windoors create a potential mfg. challenge vs. other fixed windows. The windoors basically have nothing much to add strength to the cap where the hole is cut. The frame certainly adds little to nothing. In other designs, the windows themselves offer support/strength for the hole that is cut out. With this large hole offset toward the bed rail, the lower base would be the weakest area and more easily bent or warped due to any possible stresses, whether due to clamping to the truck bed rail or stresses within the cured glass/epoxy matrix itself when the hole is cut. Just my theory and I may be way off.

Has anyone purchased the ARE CX REVO for their Tundra? I am curious as to how the curved rear window looks. The CX REVO has frameless windows and Windoors aren’t an option for the sides. Is the curved glass rear window worth sacrificing the Windoors? If anyone has pics of this model on a Tundra please post.
