I really wanted a Guild. They are hard to find in the wild, at least at the shops I have been to. Since I couldn't find one at the start of this year I bought what felt and played the best to me, that was the Taylor. At the time the Taylor I really liked was $1900 but I found the same shape in a cheaper version for $800 and grabbed it.

To me thats an expensive guitar, and I get a little nervous taking it outside or taking it anywhere. I wanted something cheap enough that I wouldn't be so worried, but not so cheap that I would not like playing it. I came across a used Guild at GC recently and if they had bothered to clean it up and put strings on it I would have taken it home. I also saw one from Craigslist and almost got it but noticed a crack on the bottom and backed out. Both of those were $300 used, a bit better than this one but for $345 I just couldn't pass on this.

my DD acoustic is a Martin budget 000x1AE which retailed for $800 when I got it. it sounds okay, but is not holding up well. I expected much better from a USA made guitar. I'm an aggressive picker, but I'm eating into the wood pretty well past the pick guard. my 90s Takamine G series is built like a tank in comparison and I got that sucker for $300 back when I was in middle school. I use the Takamine as my "bring around" guitar while the Martin stay at home or goes to church and that's about it.

Sequoia is gone. Dad traded it on a 150k ‘08 honda pilot awd v6 and $2200. Not a bad deal.

No mention of the lunar eclipse last night? I didn't know about it, or I'd have taken my tripod with zoom lens to work.

I did happen to see it.

Oh yeah, I also wanted a different shape. My Taylor is "Grand Concert" shaped which is kind of a smaller body with a narrow waist. Its on the bright side for tone. The Guild is a dreadnought which is a little broader and should hit a deeper tone.

Since Luis got his package from FedEx I’ll take up the mantle of anti-FedEx lobbyist.

Those sonsofwhores got my leaves to two different towns less than an hour from my house today and then promptly sent them to KY.

i've got to give toyota credit on the new cars.
probably the first vehicle i've seen with LED taillights that have REPLACEABLE LED SOCKETS. finally a company with sense.. 700 dollar taillight housings shouldnt be needed when an LED fails.

    FIVE months later...

Finally got the Pius fixed today. Between parts availability, my back, round-tuit's, vendor screw-ups / return policy BS, a month battle with "probably some super bug, but we'll never know", more round-tuits & DIY stupidity.

Finally got the Prius fixed & running - 7 days before the bi-annual emissions is due.

and that last step after I'd given up - shared professional knowledge, freely shared by @empty_lord on a Sunday to boot!

    Thank you again Dan.

A few moments to share knowledge/experience here on the forums just saved the Prius I was ready to sell for scrap which in turn saves my First Gen Toyota truck as I won't be driving it the winter slop.

So a special thank you to E_L in this particular instance & a reminder to us all to share what'cha know.
Because it just makes life better for someone. Today, or maybe in 3 years when someone comes across your old posts.
Thanks to all who share here, today, yesterday & tomorrow.

a simple fix. but an easy one to not catch without a scan tool that talks to the hybrid computer.

    I didn't really say.

The safety plug for the hybrid pack - I had installed it, flipped the lever up to fully install it - BUT, I forgot you have to further slide it downward to "Lock".
So the plug was in, but not fully in. That caused faults that my $30 code reader couldn't read & lots of warnings on the dash. Disconnecting the battery for an hour-ish cleared the codes, installed & locked plug prevented reoccurrence, & turning on the a/c kept the engine running to recharge the hybrid pack.

Funny thing - I'd forgotten the motor shuts off on a hybrid. It shut off & I was all WTF?!!! Then, full of optimism from no triangle-of-death, I remembered & turned on the a/c which got my motor running again.

Sometimes you get so caught up in your failures, you lose the ability to see the successes & thus get trapped in a circle of fails. Only took manning up & asking for help. Clear perspective & some good knowledge can be all it takes to get you to start seeing straight once again.
