The Raptor also has a high output engine as well.
I was wondering the same thing. Also seems to be having an issue with the infotainment center. Just another reason not to spend crazy markups to be one of the first to buy one. I'll give them a couple years to get this under control.

I definitely agree. On paper the truck was well below perfect and after release, several reputable reviewers had notable criticisms. I sure hope reliabilty doesn't come under attack or the Tundra won't keep it's slot as number 4 !

I think anyone who has driven every truck made can step into anyone of those trucks and find something to criticize. There’s no such thing as perfect for everyone after all. Most of these criticisms that these truck pros talk about are things the average guy would never even notice.

if you have ever driven from texas up to denver, the drive from basically lubbock to i25 through NM absolutely sucks for gas mileage. its mostly up hill and you are driving into a horrible head wind the whole way. add to the fact you a driving a heavy ass brick, getting 18 is kinda amazing. I drove a CRV up that way once and the wind made driving it horrible. running about 4-5k rpm in that are because of the wind. that was just to stay at the speed limit

GM’s are spacious but their seats are pure trash and the new gen interior looks to carry those over.

what did you think about the rear window I felt it was significantly smaller and didn’t give that same nostalgia rolling it down as it did in the 21.

I disagree and I think rank also takes into account the value based on what you get vs. What others offer at the same price point.

This. And it’s not just across brands it’s within Toyota.

A dealer has a 4x2 1794 with power running boards and no other package for $61.5k. That’s a terrible value.

Pretty sure you can get a limited 4x4 with OR package for under that and it would have more capability imo.

My point had nothing to do with value. It’s the idea that a truck reviewer criticizes something about a truck therefore it’s not worth owning or it’s something you would hate or even notice also. Like the seats comfort issue. Those guys are tall. Will the average 5-9 guy think the same? Someone sees a review where they got 17 on the highway therefore it gets the same mileage as the second gen. You see that over and over again on this forum. People jumping to conclusions based on someone else’s opinion.

I wasn’t touching your comment I just inserted a value based opinion to someone else. I didn’t realize theirs was tied to another comment

    More feedback from TFL

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf98QZKI4Ws

Skip to 30 minute mark and talk on the fuel tank discussion. Andre is claiming the short bed crew max is only a 26 gallon tank!!! Is that correct??? I hope not, if so I would really question the wisdom there. Unless the real world MPG turns out to be wrong this is going to be a real deal breaker for me certainly and I imagine lots of others who live out west and tow cross country. I really hope this is wrong.

It seems to me that Youtube reviewers try to make a big deal out of trivial shit.

Most of the early reviews for the double cab clearly had the front seats pushed all the way back and reclined. This was to exaggerate the perceived lack of room in the back.

Yes, it's smaller than previous gens but not enough to make a big deal about it.

In the real world, what kind of person would carry an adult in the back of his double cab and not consider scooting his front seat up a couple of inches?

Agree 32.2 but I thought I saw a post somewhere that the truck shows EMPTY with like 6 or 7 gal still in the tank ?
I can see how someone can think they have smaller tank, especially if they don’t run it down past 1/4 tank.

The fundamental difference is that one of them is a lot easier to understand how they work inside.

Whew! Thanks! Even a few extra gallons can be very much appreciated out in West TX, Wyoming, etc. and definitely when towing. Thanks again!

I've been looking for any information on the following features that I have seen mentioned in news articles, but can't find any mention of them in the toyota website builder. Anyone know what they cost?
Maybe they are not stand alone and part of a package?

    - Remote start
    - Retractable running boards
    - Dealer installed leveling kit (think its spacers over front coils)

Nice to see the denial has kicked in for some of you after seeing the mediocre reviews pile in. But hey,, blame the reviewers. Only listen to those who tell you what you want to hear. Which is anything to confirm why many of you want to sell your 2015 and up "forever truck" for this new 2022 "forever truck"..

In all fairness, the tundra has been getting mediocre reviews for well over a decade.

Anyone who likes something will toke on the copium pipe when it gets criticized. I think the "mediocre" reviews highlight minor issues and people react to over reaction.

I've read that the LT Trail Boss is fugly garbage with soft lifters, tiny tires, cheap and shitty interiors. Why I must be a complete dumb fk to own one..and yet the truck has been amazing.

You're welcome. Just watch out if you go SR5 trim. The 32.2 is an option on SR5.

You can spec the SR5 premium package and still not get the 32.2. You have to ensure you have the right package included.

It's no different than the 2nd Gen. It's already been well established that you can drive well past the empty mark with no issues.
