until its -20 degree's outside and it takes forever for that solid core to warm up. you try driving holding an ice cube even with gloves. some days i can drive 15-25 mins home and its still cold even though everything else is warm in the vehicle.

its only applies to those that have to deal with below zero winters all the time (Northern Tier States, Canada)

    each person is different. :)

i know that now in my 50+ range and dealing/working outside during winters, my hands now are sensitive to cold, especially my right hand. i can see younger folks prob say meh, but us older folks enjoy our creature comforts.

sadly to solve the problem of a short over hang on these seats, you need to step up to the plat/1794 to get the under thigh extension bolster. that added 1-2 inches of extension really helps on long drives.

None of the negatives was a deal breaker. Hopefully the infotainment issues can be fixed.

I still think the SR5 TRD Sport is by far the best looking modern truck out there.

I can say having heated backrests and seat pans is nice. If I remote start mine and the ambient temp is low, the seats are warmed up for me before the key goes in the ignition.

Same here. I would have scoffed at heated steering not many years ago. Now I'm 50+ and on beta blockers, my hands are like ice.

Couple things I noticed after watching Pickup Talk with Tim:
I had one heated seat in my life that was on a Lexus ES 350. It worked, but only provided heat around the 9 & 3 hand positions. Is this the norm for heated seats? I believe it is & Tim from Pickup Truck Talk was expecting to feel heat all over.
All newer Toyota’s with the remote start will shut off upon opening the door or unlocking. Tim obviously wasn’t aware of this. Maybe he needs to spend more time on the forums:).

I agree that the issues that he had with the Tundra were not even close to being deal breakers with me. Don’t know abut everyone else but I can’t wait till the Tundra Hybrid gets released! Bring on the Ike Gauntlet!

And those folks won't be in this thread for another 3-5yrs. By then those buyers will be asking a million questions about turbo maintenance and whatever other prevelant bugs (like cam shaft leaking for 2.5, or the ticking noise) the 3rd gen will have.

Do the Canadian non-limited Tundras really all have the smaller fuel tanks? If so, that’s a deal breaker for me.

When I was shopping 21 pro vs platinum it wasn’t as necessary and I could live without.

In the 22 the thigh extension is much needed if you’re taller. I am 6’3 like Andre but I’m built funny. My legs are normal, I wear a 32 inseam and my torso is obnoxiously long and I still would need it.

I could prob scoot around town without it. But would def want it on my 13 hour trips back to my hometown.

    SR is 22.5 gallons
SR5 is 22.5 gallons but can be optioned with 32.2 gallons
Everything else has 32.2 gallons standard

We’ve had three turbo charged vehicle. Every single one of them had well over 150,000 miles up to 305,000 miles on them when we got rid of them, never once did we do anything to the turbo. Sample size of three, but I’m not going to spend a lot of time wringing my hands over it

They won’t let you add the 32.2 gallons as an option in Canada which is crazy.

I was thinking the same thing, Tim kinda chalks it up to first year truck. Im thinking no, its toyota. they do stupid shit, like the truck shutting off before you get in after remote start, LOL.

the heated steering wheel not getting hot at all is another toyota given, my vented seats don't do shit, nothing, nada.

that one is disappointing, I really wanted a heated wheel in a tundra and now it doesn't even work. One of those deals where you take in into the dealer and it's "within spec" , ya right.

I didn't realize the Hybrid was only in limited and up. I guess that's why majority of first deliveries we are seeing are a lot of SR5's.

Does the hybrid even work at speed? Or is it just for takeoff around city? If that's the case it won't make much of a difference going up the ike, maybe worse since your hauling extra weight around.

The remote start shutting off when the door opens sucks, my t4r is like this seems ridiculous to have to restart the vehicle.

Has anyone seen a review of the tow mirrors and the trailer brake controller in use? I'm curious if they fixed/improved the trailer brake controller on this gen.

which makes how much sense since they are saying this is for power and towing? O, thats right = 0

the highest tow capacity trucks are the lower trims and that is what the guys who tow for business, etc are going to use. So, let's detune the SR and make our big towing monster world beater only for limited and up. Im not buying limited and platinums for my busniess for the field, lol. sorry toyota

I swear, toyota just has to have these stupid little deals in their trucks , lol.

Agreed, seems like it is typical first run issues. But something that would piss me off if I were paying that much for a truck.

I swore during the lunch they said they changed how the remote start works. It worked the same on my 21 and I just wasn't a fan. It was like my own start/stop system lol.
