Toyota has not reported to the NHTSA that there's a remedy available yet, but they do know where the problem lies. So hopefully it'll get fixed soon, I have an affected VIN.

Where do we go to check if we have been affected by vin number?

So... I am in the process of swapping out my 2019 halogens to the Pro LED headlamps using an iHacker plug-n-play harness.

Does anyone know if this will fix the issue?

From the information above it seems it is with a particular circuit that allows both the low and high halogen beams to be activated at the same time. Thus, the heat from dual halogen bulbs trigger the fire.

Do the LED's run so much cooler that this would not be an issue?

Is it even possible for the LED headlamps to have both on at once? Or is it simply a set of LEDs that varies in intensity (it acts as a combo high + low)?

ETA - info from link above...

The subject vehicles are equipped with halogen headlamps that allow the circuits for both the high and low beam bulb filaments to be energized at the same time when the high beams are switched on. Under some conditions, if the high beams are repeatedly left on for an extended period while the vehicle is idling or driving at low speed, there is a possibility that the bulb connector could overheat to a level that can result in an increased risk of a fire that can propagate to other parts of the vehicle.

I'm curious about this too. I have a 2015 Tundra that I upgraded with the Ihacker harness and 2018+ trd pro lights.

I have an affected VIN but not worried. I never drive at low speeds or idle with highs on, plus I have LED bulbs with fans so overheating is not really a concern.

I got the recall notice in the mail but havent received any more info about the fix. I decided to go ahead and upgrade to oem led since the toyota sale goin on. 20% off and free shipping good time to upgrade. If toyota decides to uprgrade us to led, which i doubt will be the fix, ill keep my halogens and get them swapped out. But it will probably be some kind of bulb swap or harness swap or something else cheap. We'll see...
