So, prior to my current, I had a 2000 Tundra SR5 TRD 4x4 Westin Step bars and I used to go skiing every Sat. - well, being northern Vt - there is often ice. So, I got to the resort early, parked away from everyone, you could see how they plowed the night before, but it froze after, so most of the parking lot is a ice rink. My friend arrives, and parks next to me, where we were, was a bit of an incline, as soon as he hit his brakes, he started sliding sideways, right into me. thankfully, our mirrors hit, and folded in, and his truck fender slid into the step bar and stopped. Luckily he only had some minor scratches, and I had no marks whatsoever. We were lucky I didn't budge, as the edge of the parking lot was on the other side of me... and it was about 25-30' of very steep down with fairly large trees on the bank that might have stopped us, but ... I have Westin step bars on my 2011 tundra too. Mostly for in/out convenience, but ... you never know.

That front grill looks pretty useless aerodynamically when compared with the Prius or similar.

    JK!

Check these out through 2 min if you want best of both.

I don't think I would worry about getting one in a hurry until they figure out how many are affected by the bad waste gate part...they are grounding them left and right the past couple of days, no parts to fix them and the owners are driving loaners for who knows how long. I am not sure if Toyota knows how many or which batch was bad, if they did I would think they would put a stop sale on them and start to replace them. Or maybe they are just playing the, wait and deal with it when it happens game.

Either way, there are a lot of them with the issue.

That 2021 looks quite a bit bigger than the 2022. Maybe its the color.

If I didn’t have previous 18” tires (just need new wheels) I may actually consider 17’s

I wonder though if there is an effect on things like brake cooling, etc with that sliver of clearance (don’t know…just wandering out aloud).

With 17” I’d be more worried if something get stuck between the brake caliper and wheel. A rock can wedge in there and damage the wheel pretty bad.

I actually found that too when I saw one on a lot last week. Pulled up to a 22 SR5, same colour cab/bed and trim as my 14. Seemed smaller somehow despite being technically bigger dimensionally (I believe). Noticed it most from the front which is funny given all the chatter re the grille. Interior looked pretty comparable/not noticeably much smaller contrary to the commentary on that as well. Was interesting to see live for sure, not what I was expecting. Next I hope to spot a CM long bed to see the scale on that. Hopefully it’s not an SR5 4x4 in black or I might have some explaining to do to the wife when I come home with it lol.

The problem with the inventory search is that the dealer where the truck is isn't listed and no VIN so you could look it up that way. I talked to a couple local dealers and they told me that most of the trucks they had coming in had a wait list (some with multiple aspirants) and that they had no choice in the configs they were getting.

The current gen 4runner doesn't have a lot more clearance w/17"s on the front. A Tacoma sport 17" wheel won't clear on the 'runner front caliper.

At first glance, I'm not a fan but if they lose the Avalanche/Santa Cruz style flare on the bed and put some 18s on it, it may not be terrible.

The RoboCop headlight may need to be modified too.

One of the first things I noticed as well but I wasn't sure if that is was because it was an RST or they will all be that way. :fistbump:

Ford Lightning has them and the full reveal will probably show them on the Chevy model also.

It's just a leaked shot from one angle...

Wonder why they didn't add a bunch of hideous chrome on it... :boink:

Sad this is the direction we're heading, for all truck manufacturers. Really wish gm would get the mirrors up of the doors and into the correct location.

    A bunch
I'm leaning the same way, I can deal with the styling from the rear door forward, but the C pillar flare drives me nuts. I get it's for aerodynamics and probably saves quite a bit of energy, but it also makes the front foot useless - whether it's for a toolbox, bed cover, or even just reaching in. I was hoping they'd keep one of the GMC or Chevy as more of 'working truck' (squarer bed and no flare, larger rims for more tire sidewall) while the other would be pure mall crawler for max efficiency. Still have hope the GMC could be like this, but not hopeful since Chevy used to be the working brand and GMC was the luxury.

Yeah I've seen that argument, visually it looks terrible. If that's the design there going for then design the door without the plate where the mirror used to be. It just looks so off, I have never been a fan of that design cue. The HD trucks look even worse with the tow mirrors hanging off the door. This is one area I actually like about the 22' that's design, the mirrors are where they should be.
