What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Yes the front is hollow at 17 lbs. The TRD is 29 lbs and solid. It is an awkward install. Helps to have a 2nd person or jackstands with a rag on top so you don't scratch the paint.

 

Great suggestion. After installing rear sway bar I thought, dammit I should have gotten it painted before installing to match my tow hooks

 

What do you think of it Brian? Been thinking about it or the Hikeit brand

The PC is nice. I have the non-bluetooth version and I've had it for 3 yrs or so.

 

Finished the undercoating on my truck prior to the winter weather we’ve had the past couple of days. Glad that I did!

Ordered a set of Meso dual color map lights and dual color dome light. I’m still rocking the yellowish halogen interior stock bulbs so this will be a welcome change

Its too bad that you cant get them to sound as good as you want! i have 2 JL 12tw1 subs going into a box from james soon - i will keep you updated on what i find out

 

I think one just cannot get the depth of base from a shallow speaker and box. Don't get me wrong because these sound great but just lack the depth of base I had in my Ram single cab that had 10" subs and a deep box. They had a great deep rumble when the music presented it.

Same was true in my Ridgeline where I had standard kind of speaker but not so deep a box. The Ridgeline was lacking some rumble compared to the Ram but was much more full sounding than what I have now.

These have great hit and are nice and tight but in a sense, "hollow" when it comes to deep base. They will indeed vibrate the rear view mirror but in the Ridgeline and Ram I was waiting for the mirror to shake off because it vibrated so intensely.. lol.. not even close with these..

Maybe the 12s will help compensate some of the loss in the 10s.?. How much power are you going to put on them?

Car Toys is telling me I need more power but the Ridgeline had this same amp and it was plenty of power.

My girlfriend and neighbor say it sounds awesome as it is. I guess I got spoiled with past configurations.. lol..

I'm listening to the Eagles, Floyd, Zeppelin, system of a down, rush, Alice in chains, and other classic rock. I'm not into rap or pop.

Installed my ESP long box underseat storage! Took about an hour and a half for the install! Fit like a glove!

i have a 900/5 for the 2 subs and 4 x75. i am open to an extra amp and or DSP if I need one but james says the RD900 should be plenty. I wonder if a different head unit would solve your issues...if not maybe going to a 12" sub with more power to it?

 

i know the feeling.. I have 4.. that’s why I had to opt for an SR5 with front bench seat to fit all 6 of us.. still use 2 booster seats for the rear too lol.. when I need to get to the storage, guess they gonna be standing on the curb! Lmao

 

Swapped my broken KTJO tailgate lock with a Pop & Lock from @DexterL . Piece of cake since the wiring was already in place. Just had to remove the KTJO bracket and actuator and then mount the Pop & Lock and plug in the wires.

 

Haha someone needs to invent a sliding version that sits under the seats that doesn’t require folding the seats up. Like a mini decked drawer system

Yesterday I finalized the design on my ditch light brackets, built brackets to mount the rigid 6" light bars and wired it all up. The rigid bars will eventually be replaced by baja designs xl sports.



Today I got the opportunity to unspool my entire winch line and run it back in a few times.

 

Like half this thread, I also ordered the Meso dome and map lights.

 

Actually I am going to put a head unit with cd/DVD and I'm thinking to remove factory amp to make a more direct delivery. I'm looking at the Kenwood DDX936. No Nav. We're also going to try 4ohm instead of 2ohm subs and poly fill the box. We shall see how that turns out

 

I like it. Not sure I'd do full price but it was a nice half price buy. I had a 2010 double cab for 8 years before this 2021. Felt like they drove similar until I added the dual exhaust and the level up front. Feels a little slower. The PC changes that and takes it back to feeling like stock. I don't get on the pedal fast and have my setting at Sport +2. Like it.
