I at one time thought for sure overkill but after loading over 700 pounds spread on the cover and then still having an empty bed to load, I became a true believer. It really is a game changer once you use it and know the added capability.
On this one for short bed crew on order I am hoping to get the smooth finish vice diamond plate.

Ya, the smooth would have been my choice had they offered it when I bought mine.

And I run two rooftop boxes and a mountain bike on top mounted on bars. I know even that isn't scratching the surface of how much it'll hold...

I finally got a dealership here in the Vegas are to order the 6.5' OEM Tonneau cover for me (P/N PT954-34221-02). I've never had so much trouble spending $1,000 before. haha. I understand most dealerships don't want to take the liability of ordering a part they can't verify it'll fit or not.

Let me tell the story through dialogue and hope it makes sense.

The dealership parts woman said to me, "I can't verify it in the system a bed cover for the 2022 Tundra. When I put in your make & model it doesn't show anything available, but when I put the part number you gave me it shows available to order. Where are you getting this part number?"

Me: "I got a copy of the tonneau cover installation manual that the Toyota techs use, and it has the part number in it."
Her: "Where did you get it?"
Me: "A buddy on FB who was able to order the OEM bed cover through his dealership in Houston. They also sent him the install instructions."
Her: "What model year does it say on the install instructions?"
    Me: "MY22 and up."
Her: "Can you send it to me so I can look at it and see if this is legit from Toyota?"
Me: "Sure thing." [I email it]
Her: "Hmmm. These look real. Let me go out to the service department and have them look for these in their system. I'll also talk to our parts manager to make sure this will work. We're just reluctant since we can't tell in our normal system if this will fit. We've been telling customers that the truck has be built with the bed cover and it can't be ordered, but this seems to indicate otherwise. Can I call you back in a bit after we do some digging?"

    (1 Hour later...she calls back)

Her: "Hi there! We downloaded the instructions and placed a test order with our regional warehouse. It looks like the instructions are legit and we can get this in. I don't know how you did it, but you're more of a parts sleuth than most of the people I've worked with. We can place the order and it should be here by Thursday or Friday."

So I've placed the order for P/N PT954-34221-02 for the OEM tri-fold bed cover. Fingers crossed this works, so I don't have to eat $1k. haha.

I had a similar conversation with 3 dealerships in my area yesterday…I gave them the PN for the short bed and their response was like “The PN is good but I can’t seem to order it…where did you get it from?”

So I tell them where I got it from (the forums, verified owners who got theirs, etc)…and then I tell them I will try yet another dealer I was told “well good luck…we all order from the same options/accessories website so they may not have better luck either”

…at least you found one willing to see what happens so I hope it works out and some of us can follow your lead :fingerscrossed:

Yep…and it shows up when I put in in the online parts website as pictured below also…along with a list of participating local dealers who should be able to order for me…

but when I call them they all say they can’t.

Honestly forum members this is ridiculous. 60K truck and NO accessories are avaliable.

Sparks Toyota ordering tip-put everything you want in the cart and get to the payment page and don't go through with it. But dont delete the page.

The next day they will send you a 30% off shipping coupon SHIP30.

    PT954-34221-02 for the 6.5' Bed.
    PT954-34220-02 for the 5.5' Bed.

There is no OEM bed cover option for the 8' bed that I'm aware of.

you won’t be able to really see it (unlike the Tacoma). I think it’ll show itself with a replacement bumper.

Same experience with any brand new model in my experience. A little patience and there will be plenty of aftermarket choices better and cheaper than OEM.

Well…between the info from this thread and the “what have you done…” one I just ordered a Tonneau Cover, bedmat and skid plates w/bolts…

I ended up going with Hickory Toyota over Sparks (though Sparks is cheaper over all)

…I just couldn’t pass up saving just under $200 due to the Free Shipping coupon from Hickory so I will await my products in the mail.

By the way…not to discourage anyone from either as I have ordered from Sparks in the past and will again (first time from Hickory),
but every dollar counts in my book as I have a laundry list of other items I would like to acquire.

Does anyone have a part number or know if we will be able to buy the power running boards and power bed step to install on an SR5? I noticed that they are standard on every platinum that I have seen but don't know if it's an option on the lower trims.

Amp research should have you covered for those on the aftermarket. The power rear step is unlikely though

looking to swap out my tires for some 35’s and wondered if any rubbing occurs without a leveling kit. If a leveling kit IS needed, what’s the least amount of height is needed to accommodate 35’s?

If you do the Wescott Designs lift you’ll have no issue. I’m planning on doing that with 295/70r18’s on the stock wheels.

there are a handful of guys running 34x11.5 and 35x11’s with no issues and no lift on the Facebook group. You can do 35x12.5’s but will need to move back the rear fender liner- super easy

Looking to do a 2in level on the front only, to accommodate 35’s. Blackjack off-road here in San Antonio TX does tons of them for the dealerships.

You should be totally fine then. Wheel offset 35-0 is ideal depending on how much "poke" you want. Personally i wouldn't go over 18+ offset if it was me- too much tire sticking out
