New...have 2018 tundra TRD all.white, need mods

Hello, just got my first tundra and looking to bounce ideas off others.

 

Such a nice truck! Congrats!

 

Last year with the factory trans cooler. Nice score! Probably the best year Tundra available.

 

Best mod in my opinion is to ditch that crappy factory audio system.

Personally, I wouldn’t change a thing!

 

running boards and audio maybe. Maybe change out grill to the TOYOTA in it?
Grill and running boards just my preference, awesome looking truck
Also I would change badges to black

Not sure what you have so far, but I agree with changing the running boards as well as some interior LEDs. I did decal/badge removal on mine which I thought made it look slick. That’s all in the personal preference of the owner though.

Black-out your emblems! Cheap and easy if you wanna do plastidip, or buy the replacement badges or covers.

You need some different running boards. I love my amp power steps!

I put a new head unit, new cameras front and back, full body skids (to protect cats), and several other mods. I detailed my mods on my build thread (linked below). There are so many good build threads from others here, so many ideas! Start searching and you'll have more mod ideas than you can shake a stick at.

Thanks for all the ideas....so far I for sure want to change to the following but I would LOVE feedback from anyone so fire away:

1. Change running boards to "Go Rhino RB20 Black Running Boards" ( I like the look plus they stick out farther than my doors to help with people who don't know how to open their own car doors lol. Hopefully these will help against dents.
A. Does anyone know where to get these at a good price?

2. I ordered the black w/ red outline "Tundra" raised letters for the tailgate. (ALL current handles and emblems are blacked-out....NO CHROME HERE)

3. I REALLY want to change to the TRD PRO grill with BLACK "TOYOTA" Lettering but I have questions.....I don't need the hood bulge, or the bottom piece that is painted....I "believe" all I need is JUST the grill, Letters, and something for the TSS to work.....
A. Does ANYONE have ANY advice on this mod and/or a good place to purchase this without spending a fortune?

4. REALLY thinking of installing the "long gun box" under the back seats...Reason why is I like how they sit in the floor, and how they lock.
A. Does anyone have any info on this install?
B. Does anyone know where to buy this for a good deal.

5. Thinking of getting the TRD skid plate but I've heard about a TRD PRO skid plate....what is the difference?
A. ANYONE KNOW where to get this cheap/discounted.

I'm Active military so I'm hoping I can find some awesome businesses that provide a good product, at a good price, and maybe even with a military discount if I'm lucky.

I bought my pro grille from Empyre Off-road, it was by far the cheapest and was near OEM quality. Was around $230 shipped with the TSS sensor.

 

Perhaps rock sliders as those OEM boards are not the best looking. Bully dog, DAP, or pedal commander. Or some combination of the 2. I’ve heard good things about the banks power monster pedal

Wait, you got a TRD PRO grill AND TSS parts for $230 shipped? Did everything link up correctly and did the TSS work without issue? I've been trying to figure out what I need to transition from my OEM TRD grill to the TRD PRO grill while keeping the TSS sensor working. Would you be able to post the link of where you bought yours at , and provide info of what all is needed for the swap? I don't want to purchase stuff and then find out I'm missing parts

The market economy hasn't been kind to the consumer for the last couple years, and the merchants haven't had it much better... so I wouldn't expect many discounts/deals. In some cases (skid plates, head units, etc), you'll be lucky to find anything you can buy readily in stock.

And this isn't really like the MWR ticket desk, you're not saving much of anything with military discounts in this arena, not a single mod on my truck came with one. Some of the guys making stuff for our trucks are combat vets themselves, and knowing this, I never seek a discount unless it's been advertised. Especially since some of the transactions are so informal, just feels too Blue Falcon-ish.

Look for used skid plate maybe. Sparks Toyota in MB SC has good prices. Get a Motiv filter wrench. Enjoy your truck. It’s super nice as you have it.
