I am trying to decide between these three units. is there any big functional difference? what else would i need besides the trigger etc to hook up the following items the right way?

    1 - relay for winch
2 - relay for on board air - most likely large ARB compressor
3 - blackvue 3 channel dash cam w park mode - would i use it for this?
4 - LED ditch lights and fog lights
    5 - LED light bar
    6 - LED trail lights

thank you for any input. i have read all the threads and i returned my auxbeam but need a little help with the next step. i do like remote access to the switched items and the ability ti dim lights as well as different light programs at the touch of a button

Doubt you'll need a switch for the dash cam as it has to have constant power for park mode. I'd love to buy a Trigger but I'd have to replace multiple interior trim pieces and I'm not ready for that.

the switches on the SPOD-type setups are flush mounted and minimal. The Trigger has switches that are rocker-style and quite bulky in relation to the SPOD

ARB Linx can do what you want and with the Pressure Control kit you can specify the tire pressure you want and walk away - air up or down. It's got a bunch of other features as well: monitor up to 3 batteries, has an inclinometer for pitch/roll, speed via GPS, control for front/rear lockers, etc..

I run a trigger and will say the switches are pretty bulky when attached to the base, but being able to take the switches off and move to any magnetic surface is a big plus for me. You can also always control from your phone.
I have my switches hidden in my sunglasses holder that I never had a use for anyways so they are always hidden out of sight

I spent some time looking for winch wiring needs. My conclusion was to ditch the relay and the switch and wire it as directed. If you have to extend any supplied cables, go big.

I have one of the older SPOD's and have had 0 issues. I have 4 Baja Designs LED light bars, bed lights, rear Baja Designs bumper lights, ARB compressor wired up to it. The picture of the air compressor shows the circuit breaker for the 10,000 LB winch

i am a rookie with this stuff - im thinking a winch is going to use a switch for on / off power inside the cab , same with an on board compressor. would using a controller like a switch pro or trigger to activate a relay for these be a good way to do this?

You can wire a winch to power in with a switch but it’s not necessary.

I have my winch wired directly to my battery and use the on off switch on the winch itself. Not ideal when stuck in mud or something of that sort but honestly your going to get muddy getting you line off the spool either way so hitting a switch while I was there isn’t a big deal for me

I'm going to use the ARB/Switchpros harness kit for exactly that on the compressor.

I'm still in the camp of wire and run a winch as prescribed in the directions with short runs and big cable. On my winch, other than the ground for the blue tooth/wireless controller, no cables are less that 2-4 gauge. I'm not sure even sure how to relay that. I did look at battery disconnect switches - even those - good luck finding one that can handle peak draw.

Thank you, I think the switch Pros mount here, but I wanted my rear window switch closer so I went with the SPOD.

Please elaborate on the circuit breaker for the winch. I’ve read about a few instances of control boxes catching fire while trucks are not running and I’m thinking of options to prevent this. Someone that had this happen to him recommended a blue sea battery switch and it seems to be a good option, but yours looks interesting. What did you do and what parts did you use?

I have a smittybilt x20 12k winch and there is no on/off switch. I’m not sure about other brands, but the winch is basically on 24/7. There is a switch to turn off the wireless remote but that doesn’t help with a fire starting in the control box. There has been at least two instances of fires that I’ve heard of for the smitty. At this point, I’ve disconnected the positive lead from the winch and will only connect it when it’s in use now. Need to come up with a battery switch that can handle the amp draw or circuit breaker like you’ve done.

Btw, OP, I use the sPod bantam x and it has worked great. It has many features that allow dimming, strobe, flash, and momentary. You could also purchase a premium option in the app to create your own custom flashing/strobe, among other things. The bantam x is a bit on the expensive side, but it makes adding accessories extremely easy. Be aware that sPod doesn’t recommend wiring up the ARB twin compressor or even a winch to it because those draw too much amperage. Each circuit on the bantam x is good for 30 amps I believe. The trigger 4 has two 30 amp circuits and the other two are less. I’m not sure about the switch pro though.

Thank you - I feel like i am finally getting my head wrapped around this lol. what about using the controller to power a relay for the compressor or winch? i am thinking it wouldn't be able to turn on without the controller switch but maybe it would still have power because of the battery connection? like you i would want the big items off w no power until i turned them on

I ran the new SPOD led control unit for all my baja design lights...I have two pair hooked up to cab switches...one for front fogs and a pair on my rear bumper that was wired to the bed light switch which I didn't need because of a cab.
The rest of the lights used up the 8 switches ....I have a blackvue dash cam that is being hard wired into the fuse box because of park mode. I thought about getting one that would tie to my Kenwood HU but the connections and models are not great. I relocated the smitty 12k winch control unit to a place in my engine bay where it is easy to get to and it is connected to the battery..I mounted the SPOD Led unit in the tray just below the Kenwood. I don't think an SPOD can handle the winch or a compressor. SPOD has all sorts of programming and the customer service is second to none...

I have a sub volume knob there i might have to relocated. i just got the same head unit put in and i have a blackvue on order lol. is the GP audio fuse(?) for your winch? i need some battery terminals like that as well

Thanks....attaching a photo of SPOD location...the GP audio goes straight to the stereo amp. The winch goes straight to the battery...I'm not sure if the fire issue on those is happening in newer ones or not. Certainly something to be aware of but mine has been fine. My sub volume is directly above the gas pedal pretty low since I touch it so rarely. the connection for the spod comes in from the bottom and bracket mount goes there as well. You might be fine without moving the volume control.

thank you. maybe because i just had the subs put in but im adjusting the volume all the time lol. i think i would prefer normal toggle switches vs the screen but i dont know much about SPODs and what the options are yet. I saw one the takes the place of the sunglasses holder

I think the main issue is how many lights are you trying to run off it...I had 8 plus and the one I have is expandable to 24. I have seen some mounted in center console and overhead. A lot of personal preference....
