Post pics of your install. Every truck is different with these S8's.

Unfortunately or fortunately, I didn’t install it. That may have been a blessing due to all the headaches I’ve read about on this light bar within the hood bulge. I’ve been dealing with a pinch nerve in my neck for 3 weeks now and just couldn’t stand seeing her still in the box.

    Looks good.

I’m waiting to install mine. Not sure why since the weather has been nice. Just can’t stop fishing enough to dedicate my one day a week to the install. Maybe next week…

I have had mine crack and break at the 2 corners of the openings. It does not like high speeds at all. I put a metal band all the way across that area inside and have it bonded to the plastic. So far it has not moved

Imma have a spare hood bulge this week. I'll see if I really like the SDHQ mounts or not. Honestly, it seems like a mixed bag though. Some folks have run it forever and I have never heard a peep, and it seems like others have to fiddle with things a bunch!

@TruPatriot you've got to have a pretty amusing amount of overall output now... :D

That was your post a while back with the 1 inch aluminum bar slid in there IIRC?

Looks great! I’m running the same one with the sdhq mount and zero problems. I think some people are not completely following their directions and trying to cut corners, drilling the 3” holes in the back and that stuff.

The BD S8 is a high quality light bar. I couldn’t be more pleased! Now with that said, the only thing I don’t like is how the bulge fits at the corners, but the light bar is tight and secure. If you decide to pull that trigger, Hotshot Offroad will give you the best trigger pull around!

What causes this to not line up anymore? the light looks great but the corners would drive me nuts.

That is one hell of a gap that needs to be fixed. There is a high possibility of that bulge coming completely off. Did you trim those corner clips on the back of the bulge? Post more pics of the install and where the bar is sitting. You may need to push it back more.

Due to a pinched nerve and tired of looking at the light still in the box, I paid to have it installed. With that said, the light bar looks as if it needs to be installed further back into the bulge. I’ll be investigating this soon, myself.

As you read above, I didn’t install the bar, but your assessment lines up with my own.

So the way that the instructions show to mount it, that results in about a 3/4 inch gap between the bottom edge of the bulge and the edge of the bar. My guess is that the installer mounted the bar further forward to the edge of the bulge to close the gap. That would cause the ends of the bar to make contact with the corners of the bulge pushing them out like that. I'm just in shock that he gave it back to you like that.

Yup - Lee take 'er back! Those corners should not flare like that. If he won't fix it drive on up here to MT and we'll get it taken care of for you!

I think that’s exactly what he did, and possibly not trimming the corner tabs or trimmed enough.

Mine did that too, I took it off and got the dremel and took off a tad more off the plastic tabs for the clips on those corners and now it sits flush, just be gentle putting it back on, there’s not a ton of material there after that, once you get it lined up good and clips lined up good in the holes just bump it a little with your palm and I bet you can get them flushed up better.

I have liked my BD lights. the hood buldge had two issues...broken tabs that had to be replaced and the bar kept moving down when the hood was closed. Both resolved.

Other than replacing the broken tabs, how did you fix the issue of the bar moving down when hood closed? Nice looking truck with assortment of BD lights!

Your bar isn't centered between top and bottom of the bulge. That would drive me nuts.
