    Hello,
I have a 2012 Tundra limited and i'm looking for aftermarket LED headlights. What has been the best bulbs to buy and cost of them. Do I need to replace my high beams too.
    Thanks in advance.
    Robert.

There's 2 schools of thought for these headlight bulb questions.

    1) Leds/HIDs in reflector housings shoot glare blind everyone. Folks will then say "aim them down", "xxxx brand fixed the glare", or "I don't care, I'm not looking into my own head lights". But either way, oncoming traffic will hate you.

    2) Or do it right, retrofit projectors in. Or buy new housings that work with leds and control the glare, or are built in LEDs. Alpharex/Morimoto/2018+ Sequoia swap

Really up to you and if you care.

This. I just put Morimoto's on mine. Was a toss up between them and the Sequoia OEM LEDs, but the $1000 difference with the Morimoto black Friday sale was the clincher. Wouldn't consider Alpharex because I think they are ugly. Any of the bargain stuff like Spyder is junk after my experiences with them on my LX. I put the high quality LED bulb kits that Toytech sells in at first, and they were actually a little bit brighter than the Morimotos, but I was constantly getting flashed for blinding people with my low beams.

Do you know how long these XLE will last? Seems like some reviews show a very short life span.

The VLed Micro Evolution leds work well in the halogen reflectors that you have. I had them in my 2013. I actually have them sitting in the garage.

I'm in the market for replacements also. Was looking at Alpahrex but leaning towards biting the bullet on the Morimoto XB gen 2. Who generally has the best prices on Morimotos? Anyone know of any deals out there?

I would buy Morimotos from Morimoto. If you need tech support or warranty work, that should be a lot more convenient.

Morimoto had a few good sales around the holidays. If you aren't in a rush just get on their mailing list and wait for a sale. I got mine for roughly $800 on black Friday.

They're pretty strict on publishing any sort of deals outside of sales windows, but shoot us a message with what you're after (DRL color) and your vehicle specs and we can probably help you out!

Headlight revolution, retrofit source and morimoto are all owned by the same company and have the exact same shitty customer service. If the product works you're set if it doesn't good luck.

Have you had issues? I had heard going with Morimoto was a better option vs AlphaRex due to superior quality and the 5 year warranty..

I have and still do. I already had their fogs with no issues. I added the SB headlights last fall and cannot turn on the headlights without the fog lights coming on too. I've tried resistors in every configuration to no avail. Their customer service was slow, ill informed and condescending. Headlight Revolution actually told me to call Morimoto, morimoto told me to call HR, retrofit source didn't answer the phone. Complete cluster fuck. They said I was welcome to send them back on my dime and they would give me a refund. This was literally right at the 30 day deadline, which is why they take their sweet time getting back to you. Buyer beware.

I have the Morimoto's and they've performed beyond my expectations. Much brighter than OEM, they have the leveling motor and 5 year warranty. I considered the other brands but I wanted to really upgrade because I'm keeping the truck till the wheels fall off.

Do the Sequoia retrofit. A) They’re super bright B) They’re OEM C) They completely update the front end of your truck and can be had for about a G all-in

Where are you finding them new for that price?? I looked at them, and the best I could find was roughly $725 per light plus $100 or so for a custom wiring harness. I saw lots on Ebay that were used for $400-500 per side, but they had broken clips, scratches, etc.

That's about what I paid for my Morimotos, the black friday sale was a great deal. For what just the OEM headlights would cost, I got the Morimotos and paid for my Yota LED raptor lights, Morimoto license plate lights and my TRD pro sequoia grill conversion, with color matched paint. At almost double the cost, there was no way to justify the OEM as being that much better, although they do look sharp.

Essentially the same experience here...except there were even more pricey ones with broken clips, etc. $1,000 all-in for a set of Sequoia headlights I'd have done in a heartbeat. As it is, I have a set of Alpharex on the way, so we'll see how that project goes. Planning on doing HIDs in the projectors. I've looked around at several posts here with others who have done the same lights with LEDs, HIDs and halogen, and it looks like the best results (IMO) are with the HIDs.

I do have a set of older Beamtech in the stock reflectors that I've been happy with. I just realized after two years of driving that I have the headlight leveling motors, and I tweaked them down a couple notches. Haven't been flashed in weeks.

I got mine off of eBay. Seller headlampsamerica $444 per headlight + Xrunnerdude harness + lower filler plates came to right around $1000.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Headli...ack-w-o-Platinum-Model-18-20-Rh-/264537939409

Lights are more than a year old, look like new and have zero issues since installation.

    Huh... Good for future reference.

The bulbs are replaceable on them right? That was one of my biggest problems with a lot of aftermarket LEDs...

So wait... Anyone who has a Sequoia in those years, if a headlight goes out, they're looking at replacing the entire unit for $600-800??
