So I’m debating RAS for my 2016 CM. I know the general opinion is it’s a great set up if you do much towing….. But does it make a noticeable difference in day to day driving? I also see differing opinions of if it raises the rear and how much…. I’ve heard everything from nearly none to 2”…. Running Eibach Stage1 with the Eibach lift springs on the bottom setting. .5 CB shim on the driver .25 CB on the passenger… total of about 2.5-2.75” and front is currently .25 higher than the rear…..

While I will do some towing it’s definitely not a daily or even weekly task for the truck as I’m in a company van 5 days a week.

just curious if RAS is a good upgrade even for “normal” driving……

RAS HD kit is one of the best mods on my truck. Can't go wrong with it IMO.

I just finished the installation and it went pretty smooth. Here are some before and after pictures. I gained exactly one inch setting the HD springs at 25% (white disc 1mm). I have @BOSS4x4s shackles set at the highest setting (third hole 2" lift). If the RAS makes the rear sit too high for my liking, I will need to drop the shackles to the middle hole. I will post pictures later when I get the truck outside.

I have really been reading everything I can find on the RAS. If they stop the shuddering my truck does taking off from a stop when I’m pulling my car hauler with my 1st gen taco on it about 7k then I will definitely buy.

Shuddering? Is your truck lifted? I'm lifted front and back. I had to add spacers to make the shudder go away. Post-Lift Driveline Vibration-What Spacer? | Toyota Tundra Forum (tundras.com)

Just have TRD PRO suspension with 1” lift rear Coachbuilder shackles no dL spacer. If I take off real easy it doesn’t do it. Take off hard and the whole truck shudders but only with my loaded trailer hooked

You may want to try 1/2" or 3/4" spacers. If that still doesn't work, try 1" spacers. Every truck reacts differently hence the different sizes. I have a 2" lift in the rear and had to install 3/4" spacers. I have a little shuddering again with the RAS installed (another 1" lift in the rear). I may have to install 1" spacers.

I will have to try that thanks. If that don’t work then maybe have some springs made just trying to keep stock smooth ride. Was thinking it could be the tires too. My coopers have a lot more traction than the original Michelin.

Haven’t been driving it so haven’t tried a driveline spacer or anything else. Riding my KLR until gas prices come down

I can't tell from the picture but do you have a lift block on that axel as well? I just got my lift done and my truck is more level than I like it to be. I'm thinking about adding RAS HD but I have CB +2 Shackels and a 1inch block. Thinking I'd need to remove the block and add RAS or just slap the RAS HD kit on there as is??? I want a noticeable rake

Hey, I know this is an old thread but did you ever add the RAS HD kit with the level block? How did it go?

No I never added the RAS kit. I think my truck has been handling fine over last couple years. My biggest concern was having a. Adequate setup when towing my big boat and it handles perfectly. IMG_0703.jpg

Beautiful truck and boat! Living the dream… I went ahead and ordered the RAS system to tow our 7k camper. I’m sure it could do without but I want the added stability.
