A dye pack like they put in bank robbery situations would be great. Permanent orange or red dye that would take months to wear off the miscreant's skin/face. Maybe just dye that would match your custom Valhalla plates so it would touch up any scratches.

@Classy63 and @1lowlife - Tyler, thank you very much! I received the front cat plate yesterday and the rear plate this morning! Brother, they are heavy and really nice!

I also ordered the Rock Hard 4X4 Rock Dome collars that @1lowlife ordered and posted the info here. Thank you 1LL!

As a little note on the Rock Domes - on the RockHard4X4 website I placed 8 of these in the cart and proceeded to checkout for the shipping calculation. It showed "Shipping and Handling" $38.80. I sent them a nice email asking them to look at that charge because I would not pay that. I would be willing to pay a reasonable charge though.

Jason promptly replied and told me to place the order and put his name in the comments section so he can fix it. He said it is a website issue on his end but he'll take care of it.

I placed the order as instructed. Jason held true to his word and charged me $8.94 shipping and handling. This speaks volumes to me about this company!

I've been very happy with @Classy63 with my purchase of these shields! Highly recommended! Now I wait for the Rock Domes and the time to install them.

I'm gonna have to get off my ass and make mine get installed as soon as the Rock Domes arrive. That means the Mrs and I might be installing them via drop lights. I just can't wait!

I ordered the same set for my 2011 CM 2WD on 1/25, received the first week of April and installed them myself. Solid, good beefy build quality and worth the wait! As others have said, a furniture dolly or creeper is a big help if you install yourself. I also used a sealed, empty 5 gallon bucket on its side to help hold up the plate(s) while working to get them loosely installed.

Not sure if yours is 2WD or 4WD. Since mine is 2WD the rear plate is designed to fit around the transfer case and when Tyler comes up with a mod/add-on to close up the gap on the rear plate I'll order and add it (See Trailbreaker's post above for pics).

Thank you! Since you're online right now, do you know if the Rock Domes also fit the two larger diameter bolts in the Valhalla Shields Pentagon Security bolt kit? I got the 8 bolt kit.

A little reminder to periodically check your bolt torques. Going along with normal maintenance just make sure the bolts/nuts have not loosened. Had my plates on for a while now and just completed maintenance checks on all the bolts. While not loose enough for danger, the bolts definitely needed re-torqued.

Is this something a little Blue Loctite would fix? If so, that's not a bad idea. In fact, I think I'll do that anyway just to make sure they don't vibrate loose and cause a rattle. I hate rattles!

Now I’m really irritated at myself for not doing that. I blue Loctite everything I need to stay put but somehow it never crossed my mind here. I’ll have to remember to add some when I eventually pick up the Rock Domes.

I didn't think of it until @BayRunner mentioned his bolts vibrating loose. We're all in the same boat so no one pull the plug!

Mine is 4WD. I will be picking my set up from Tyler’s shop once they are ready. (I’m within driving distance). I am going to order the Rock Hard domes, and I had already planned on using Loctite on mine.

Looking at some pics of others that have ordered Valhalla shields, Tyler’s craftsmanship and finish is amazing. I have the highest confidence and expectations of his work. I’m looking forward to having these. (Though the necessity due to thieves stealing cats disgusts me).

Blue loctite is a good idea. I normally use it, but intentionally did not with the cat plates. I used Skrewd security bolts and did not want to risk potentially stripping the head trying to remove them for future maintenance. I m know blue is not permanent but just didn’t want to take the chance.

I won’t say no to it. Just don’t use so much your mechanics do shady work after having to bust the bolts loose

Haha. If a little is good then more must be better. I just put a drop where the nut threads and bolt threads meet when fully tightened. That will prevent normal vibrations from loosening the fasteners. I really don't want to chemically weld them together.

How long did it take to install the front plate?
    I have a TRD Skid plate but I'm 2wd.
I also have the nut plate.
Is it something I can do in a couple of hours before I go to work at 11:00AM?

Trying to figure things out for when I get my truck back.
I don't want to park in my employer's parking lot even 1 day without the plates.

Depending on how the truck is set up, manual dexterity, different tools availability, strength.lol. I have the TRD skid plate also and a 4x4 truck. From my experience, loosen up the rear bolts 2ea on trd skid plate. Make it as loose as possible but don't take them off. You can probably feel the nut against the bolt by reaching into a tiny space.

Once loose, grab the main plate and insert it between the trd plate and crossmember. Use screwdriver to pry the trd plate down a bit.

Once the shield started to insert, hit it with a heavy mallet or wood or sledge hammer. Use floor jack to raise the plate as you jam.

Check alignment make sure cutouts on the plate go where the bolts are on the trd plate. Once in, bolt the other end of the shield-keep bolts loose.

If you still have time you can mount the rear cat plate. Install the L brackets to the frame first.

If not enough time, tighten the bolts on the trd plate, but make sure the rear bolts on the shield are perfectly aligned on the crossmember. I used a screwdriver and put a prying force between the trd plate and the shield. It didn't spun the nut. Then tighten up the rear bolts.

My truck is almost stock height fyi.

It probably took me 3 hours. I started by myself. I took the rear trd bolts only to find out, no way to even thread the nut to the bolt. Maybe if I lifted the truck higher I can position myself better.. Help came and made it so much easier. I'm on one side and he's on the other side.

I did very much the same but did loosen all of the TRD pro skidplate bolts to let it hang and have a large gap to slide new plate in

I've got Valhalla's nut plate and security bolts for the TRD skid plate.
Trying to figure out if it's worth replacing the TRD Skid plate bolts with security bolts.

A big part of me thinks if a Dallas crackhead sees a shield under the truck they are going to move on to the next Tundra.
They are not going to try to unbolt the damn thing to steal my cats.

Hopefully, I can work it out that I pick my truck up from the dealer on Saturday morning to give me the weekend to install.
But being I'm in their rental/loaner, I'm sure they will want me to pick up the tundra when it's ready..

Still waiting for the rear shield to come in @Classy63 ..
Looking forward to the 2WD V3 when it is available.

I wish I knew what these Dallas crackheads had going through their head. They passed 3 other new-ish tundras to drive deeper into our neighborhood to get mine. No one else in the areas been affected in almost 2 months. So no idea.

I've got a 2.5" lift and I always park on the edge of the parking lot away from everyone else.
I guess that presented a grand opportunity to steal mine..
The idiots one took one, they left the driver's side with the rubber hanger hanging from the underside of the truck...

I ordered the front and rear cat plates from you. I also have a RCI engine plate. Should I change my order? Order number is R384382799. Also, should I order the TRD Pro nut plate?

    Thanks.
