Good question. I got ~11PSI for that pulley so there is probably a bottleneck in that intake or after.........<checks thread>....good lord that is quite a girthy intake

Not sure, but the general conscious seems to be 600whp is achievable with pulley, injectors and rcf TB, which for me should be good for a year or two.

Matt Smith, who's been helping along the way with mine, is confident I'm going to be about 600 with my current setup. Guess we'll see.

That being said I still kinda want to do the Throttle Body but I don't see much need for it currently.

I reckon you could build a center console over the back engine for a fair armrest

    might get warm

will it still need the trans cooler?

Give it a bit before folks call our engine Toyota big block aka TBB, they really should build a last batch of current gen 4runners with a 5.7, I would pay handsomely for that.

Amazing!!!:) heck just build an extension in front for the first motor and get the second one under the original hood!!! What fun that would be!!!!:)

very nice to see Victor had a hand in the 4Runner.:)

Truck is back home now with the new headers, new midpipes with resonators, solid motor mounts, and Coachbuilder shackles installed. Back to attempting to tune this thing.

Keep us posted how it goes, I need to get the bungs welded on the primaries then I think I'm gonna pull the trigger for the tuning + zpe griptec.

Thankfully my headers came with them already and just needed one for the wideband.

With your magnuson you should consider making the switch to the modular quick change pulley with the hub and bolt on pulleys like the Harrop. Then you can quickly swap pulleys with 4 bolts and don’t need any special tools!

A good basic video that relates to previous conversations. Thinking this that may help explain the boost psi vs volume relationship. Basically boost psi from one blower (or turbo) to another doesnt mean anything, it’s all about the volume. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kb9TAuPYicU

Did a ton more tuning today with ProSpeed and think we got the performance side of things down. Tomorrow we start on shifting and what not.

    Favor

    after tuning

tell us what you can about the modification of the shift points

is it changing shift points or pressure mods? Ex, better lockup on 1-2?

Pretty sure it's both of those.

Now I just need to find somewhere I can do 1st-4th WOT pulls

Careful out there! Where I’m at I had trouble finding spots to run it out through 3rd let alone 4th. My remote tuning requests never exceeded pulls over 80 luckily. I was out west on Route 66 this month…now that road would have been perfect. It’s nothing like that here in eastern PA.

My 3rd gear WOT runs weren't bad. I'd go out on the highway and pull to the side. Wait for a long empty stretch and get it done. But that's starting from a roll and shifting into 3rd. WOT from 1st is gonna be impossible to get traction plus I'll be going way faster.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    15,000 mile Harrop review:

IMHO - Running a mild stage 2 Harrop is perfection.

It has all the power I have needed. (so far)

It cruises down the hwy – still getting 18mpg. I still Avg 17mpg – mostly hwy driving.

    I run stock 1794 suspension & tires.

Everything works. No codes being thrown.

Had a couple hiccups – nothing I could not handle. Loose vacuum connection & shitty pipe bands used on lower oil cooler connection. Both easy remedies.

In 2wd, which I use 99.99999% of the time, it is damn easy to break the tire(s) loose. (shitty grin type smile)

It simply won’t hook up if you press the pedal with gumption…sometimes I’ll hit the nanny button to throw some smoke. If you don’t hit the button, the old girl cuts power once you break loose.

As far as reliability? I don’t see this setup breaking easily. It’s tough to stress the motor with this mild of a tune. I’m capped by my 3” inlet & 5 volt MAF max. I chose not to tune past that.

(I think it’s far more dangerous for those folks tuning a N/A and pushing lean situations to gain power. But that’s another discussion)

As others have said…it’s astonishingly easy to get up to speed/pass.

Stopping takes a bit of pre-planning.

To anyone contemplating a supercharger, just get it. Magnuson & Harrop are very similar.

    It makes the truck awesome.

All those other performance mods pale in comparison. And they cost about the same on a per HP basis.

So I'll put you down as a "NO" for twin V8s.

    Nice review and synopsis.
