Might be able to get something going over on the 3rd gen forum for that group buy. Turns out they do have tow hooks after all, they were just re-located onto the engine block for easier V8 swaps.

    Yea, I've driven them.

Good: more modern interior yet still has buttons, I like big screens, had a ram with the 12" and Tundra is even bigger, proper adaptive cruise control, the interior is better, JBL is better (not hard to beat our JBL!), The transmission is very smooth and quick, some neat features, oh and no BMC chop to fit big tires!

Bad: big screen, the software is still not as good as Uconnect or sync4, the interior feels smaller somehow, I really don't like how expose the drivetrain is, take a peak on the chassis and it's very wide open to hit stuff.

Stock to stock, 3rd gen feels quicker, but nothing like a ford 3.5eb , a s/c V8 will smoke one easily, they did a good job given the budget and requirement, it's a better vehicle to live with but not my thing, time will tell.

What do you guys have your Tow/Haul buttons set to do with your tunes? Currently mine is set to lock the truck in gear if I'm in manual shift (we did this for tuning purposes). Wondering what other people do.

That’s how VFtuner has semi auto. The truck won’t shift unless you shift it.

I left mine alone since I do a lot of towing. That said it so greatly increases the throttle sensitivity and gear holding that it kind of doubles as a sport mode I feel. Driving with it on when unloaded and it is honestly too much, but fun when you’re looking to tear it up a bit.

I do really like the idea of the VFtuner direct shift. Could basically use it like a bump shifter and it instantly shifts to (and stays in) whatever gear you choose. That has to be fun. As close as we are going to get to paddle shifters like other trucks have.

I was almost kind of thinking about just putting it back to its stock function just for the fun factor. The gear holding is cool but don't really see myself ever using that beyond tuning.

Just reached out to PS to see what other things they've been doing with it.. if anything at all.

Also, Viktor tried to implement what VFTuner calls Direct Shift and Gear Lock on my truck, but HPTuners doesn't have access to the necessary tables like VFT does.

Yeah, sadly it can only force a downshift, not an upshift.

Ok the more I read y’all’s posts and the more I see the prices of the new Camaros I am back to looking at a Harrop. Without reading thru 1857 posts I would like to know on running a stage 2 to go so would mean,,?
    1. New injectors
    2. New fuel pump
I have TRD dual cat back exhaust, the cold air intake. Other than the supercharger and the kit what else would a person absolutely need to have the motor function properly. I have other parts I would add such as traction bars and a couple other goodies.what else would need to be on the list??

Are there any solutions to “stiffen” the open deck design of 3UR-FE? Might not be as critical as the open deck turbo BMW I6, but how long until the stock block start to deform under boost?

Stock open deck block with stock sleeves is known to be able to handle about 1000 hp. If you are going to be pushing more than that, Darton makes Modular Integrated Deck sleeves for the 3UR.
