Lost fill hose in front diff

If you can get eyes on the hose somehow, you could put fast drying super glue or epoxy on the end of a thin wooden dowel or coat hanger and just keep contact with while it adheres for a a minute or two before trying to pull it out. That’s how they got an air soft BB out of my ear canal when I was a kid. They say to wear eye protection when playing with those airsoft guns but no one ever mentioned ear protection…. What are the odds.

Lying on the bottom of the housing. The camera pushed it up against the drain port, and I was able to see it clearly from outside because it was backlit by the camera light. I was able to grab it with a pair of long 45° angle needle nose pliers I grabbed last night at Walmart. I tried to feel around and get it without the camera last night with those pliers; no luck. But all is well now.

I’m keeping the endoscope. This thing is awesome. It’ll come in useful in the future, I’m sure.

Good you got the tube out. I think I would just drove the truck for a little bit and drain the fluid and bits and pieces of plastic out. No way I am opening the differential.

This sounds like a good idea, what model Lexus would have the fill/drain plugs you reference?

 

Wow I would have been sweating bricks and not rest until I got it out. I spent two days getting the fill plug out of mine and ended up heating it with a torch and using a cold chisel to get it turning.

Get the washers also, they're not included with the plugs. I think I paid $35 for both plugs and washers at my local Lexus parts dept.

That's what I was thinking, if it's just plastic I would've spent 10 minutes and then said fuck it and let the gears do their job nice work OP!
