    I did a few "Good Morning Wuerzburg!!!" and I opened my show with "Turn Up the Radio" by Autograph. I was lucky when I got there because we didn't have a Station Manager and all the Sergeants went off for training so I just kind of did what I wanted. Some of my favorite moments were when a school teacher called me and told me that the school buses played me in the morning for the kids, a German calling me and telling me (when I was doing the Afternoon Show) that many of the stores in the downtown Wuerzburg area would play me and when my mom was doing a Blood Draw in Northern Michigan at Red Cross. She had a picture of me in uniform, on air, displayed. The guy she was drawing on said "Is that the Luv Private?" Apparently he had been in my area in Germany and heard me at the Guest House he was staying at. He said the Germans loved me because they thought I was crazy. I had a good time.

    It really was. There were shitty times but the listeners were pretty awesome. If I said I missed breakfast, the Popeyes on base would bring me something. The Commissary baked me a cake. I was talking about John Cafferty once and when my show ended, the door rang and some dude handed me a John Cafferty tape. Didn’t say anything. Just handed it to me and left. That was my 15 minutes of fame.
