You might want to post a pics in your for sale ad on the entire pipe (end to end) so buyers will know exactly what they are buying.
For $2500, I'd want to know EXACTLY what I would be buying.

They cut mine out the other night. Both passenger and driver. Already ordered the Valhalla plate. Been sparingly driving her with ear protection on. Now traction control is saying it's disabled. That must be a short as a result of the maiming right?

I don't know what's worse. Getting your cats stolen, or having to pay 2500 bucks for 6 year old used cats. Jeez. And insurance seems to be covering 99% of stolen cats around this forum. 1k seems fair. 2500 seems like robbery.

My check engine light came on immediately driving home the night mine were stolen.
The traction control light came on with it the next day driving to the dealership...
    Must be a common issue.

The tech at the muffler shop said traction control is disabled when check engine comes on. Didn't know that about these trucks.

Mine were stolen from work 2 weeks ago. Cameras, busy pedestrian area, thought i was good...

$4500 estmate. Dealer. Service Advisor says i might have cats by TGiving. Toyota will pay $42 a day for rental. Im in a nissan versa at net $3.77 per day. Ins co forced to pay for oem cats due to no aftermarket availability and at least i can get on the part wait list via Toyota...

I have to pay comp deduct, labor difference, and a/m vs oem rear 02 sensor difference....all in about $1000. Fuel savings will equal it all out as i do my side gig as a home inspector and yes the 17ft collapsible ladder fits in the versa with rear seats folded down. Peace of mind not worried about parking somewhere = priceless. Ive been running my old F150 into the ground but its on the hit list too so I went the rental route.

15 year old truck and Toyota is paying for rental due to their parts shortage. Try to get Ford to step up...

A/M Magnaflows will CEL in a few months usage per 2 local muffler shops and toyota service advisor.

Id post a pic but you know...

Will be ordering a shield. It wont stop them. Only blunt force trauma will. I wish my truck could slam itself in protective mode once theyre cutting.

My truck is sitting in my garage while waiting. Pulled the hood and repainting it due to Sun damage while it sits. Trying a match paint rattle can deal, cant look worse than it does already.

I'm curious to know what tools were used to bv remove the cats. Seems sawzall would be the quickest but awful loud. Chain wrench pipe cutters would be quieter and may be just as quick if access was easy.

Since my truck is seldom parked away from me and when in a parking lot, never for any period of time and not repeatable. I'm clamping 4 runs of hardened steel guy wire 5 feet long starting at the manifold and ending about 18" from the muffler. A plate is blocking one of the manifold bolts as well. Since I'm reluctant to weld on the truck, all clamps are double nutted and the threads mangled so if they could reach the nuts they would fight them the whole way. Some clamps were installed in a way that a short 1/4" drive air ratchet would be the only way to unbolt them.

I understand nothing is 100% coverage but for my needs it should be enough of a deterrent. At least on the first pass. If left in an airport parking lot I'm sure the bastards would come back better prepared with a cutoff wheel and claim the prize. Ultimately a good cat shield will be installed to at least hide my Rube Goldberg protection system.

BTW, I had some of the clamps and all of the cable on hand so the total cost is about 40 bucks. Total of 12, 3" muffler clamps and 6 stainless hose clamps just for good measure. See why I want to hide it?

I suspect they unbolt it, it is not welded on. If like my daugher's prius, its only 3 nuts to remove and a sensor wire to cut, I'll bet it can be done in under 60 seconds including jacking vehicle up/down.

I'm worried now, taking the wife's sequndra to Vail, Telluride and Steamboat, 2-3 days overnight at each place and probably others like Santa Fe. Should I really be worried in those places?

A sawzall and meth is all they need. They don't care about the noise. It's all about getting in and out as quick as they can. Most of the pictures I see from cat thieves getting busted, there's always a bunch of cats and a sawzall.

Been thinking about razor wire but how many stitches are worth it while wrapping it around the cats...

Both but Sawzall seems to be the tool of choice. They use a method to dampen the sounds like a blanket and plug the end.

    I wouldn't know.
I drove home 15 miles and just the CE light came on.
TC light didn't come on until I was driving to the dealership the next day.
It was the second time the check engine light came on in my 2014 in 85K miles

The first time, I didn't tighten the gas cap all the way.
Took me a day to figure it out and the traction control light never came on.

I put a cat plate on my Tundra, sons Tacoma and daughters Prius. The wife drives a Highlander and looked underneath. I don’t see a way to even bolt a plate on. The entire bottom is covered with a felt liner.

A blanket eh? Maybe include some barbed wire to snag that too. One must be careful the perp doesn't cut a pinkie finger and sue me.

I was thinking something more equivalent to how the eco warriors hammer spikes into trees but in this case something that snags and shatters the blade.
