Got my Icon Stage 9 with Leaf Springs installed in March 2021. Since then I've added a Decked toolbox and put my 315/70/17 spare tire under the bed. I added about 150 pounds if recovery gear to toolbox. Noticed they the rear end is sagging now. Icon leaf springs didn't last long. Didn't really haul anything either.

Looking at getting new leaf springs to keep the back of the truck up. May be looking at a fab rear bumper later.

Anyone have any idea if I can keep the Icons struts/shocks and add a Old Man Emu or Ironman 4x4 leaf springs? Or any other opinions about leaf springs for heavier load?

    Thanks!

Shouldn't be a problem if you're keeping the same ride height.

Yes you can. Dobonsons, OME offer HD leafs or get Alcans based on your truck, ride height, weight, etc. OME is stout stuff, their leafs can make noise so grease them a little before installing.

You may also want to look at RAS. It is perfect for handling load without the associated harsh ride. activesuspension.com. You may be able to add their HD setup to your current spring and get back what you lost. RAS will lift the current springs about an inch and help with sag.

The local off road shop swears by Dobonsons. I was going to go with them. But I also spoke to Alcan and got a quote from them too. About the same. I know OME has a good reputation.

I've never heard of RAS but that's an interesting concept. I'm going to look into that more and get the pros and cons.

I spoke to Icon and they said (along with local off road shop) said I may have Option 1. Meaning the leaf springs were installed out of the box. And the AAL wasn't added. So Option 3 is to have all of them including AAL installed to support 600-700 pound rate. I may try that first since it's cheaper.

    Thanks!
