I just installed this in my 2019 Pro with the stock air box that already had a K&N drop in filter.
I’m not sure if it’s placebo effect, but there’s a noticeable difference in pedal response and seems to drive much smoother.
I did also change my oil at the same time, so I’m not sure if that had any influence on it, but wanted to know if anyone else got noticeable results with it. It was a cheap and easy 5 minute job. upload_2022-5-4_11-39-35.jpg

I did the same on my 21 SR5, but went with the TRD filter. I didn’t really notice a difference..

From what I’ve been reading, the results vary. Either way it’s only $25 and 5 minutes. ‍♂️

From what I remember, I couldn’t tell much from a stop or at lower rpm’s, but once the truck got up to around 3,000-3,500 rpms it seems to pull a bit harder.

Not a huge noticeable upgrade, but as you stated. Cheap, fast, and easy.

Not sure which element played the biggest part, but the motor will absolutely go lean enough to stall under heavy throttle if you do the airflow accelerator + carbon trap together and neglect to disconnect the battery before you drive again. So don't forget that. I would bet the carbon trap is a bigger impediment than the stock airbox inlet on the 2.5 gen. In the much bigger 2nd gen airbox it had about double the surface area. It whistles more without it.

See the engineering explained video for carbon trap shenanigans and dyno time. For that car, he measured a performance increase identical to the K&N but without giving up that sweet sweet factory filtration. Whether it's enough to feel a difference... who knows.

Fun fact, the TRD part measures smaller through the throat than the OEM plastic by about .100" or so in both directions, yet seems to flow more air. It kinda shows how the mass of the air entering sideways to the harsh edge of the stock inlet can keep the airflow from using the whole size of the tube.

Window Breakage add on Alarm,Wireless Charger. Console Safe, Rear Dif Breather Relocation, Rear Under seat Storage, Hard wire for Radar Detector, Tonnneau Cover, Brake Sensor Protection,SABM with TRD Filter, Tailgate lock, BFG's, LED Running lights.D-3 Tuner.
Now you need to add the SABM mod to allow even more air.
