I just put on a set of Toyota oem tow mirrors on my 2010 Tundra. The installation wasn't bad, about 15 minutes per window. The mirrors I took off only had the power adjustable mirror. The tow mirrors have a blinker & running light but does not work on my Tundra. The power adjust works fine. I read others who hooked up tow mirrors that there blinker and running lights worked and there original mirrors did not come with blinkers or running lights. What can be the problem, did I miss something??

I just put the tow mirrors on my 2017 yesterday and gained the blinker and side running light. Do you have a picture of your mirror plug, and how many wires are going into it?

Toyota used multiple different harnesses for different trim levels, so the mirror connector may or may not have the wires needed to drive features that were not available on your particular trim level.

The first thing you would need would be this wiring diagram manual. You'd then need to backfill the mirror connector with the missing wires.

Turn signals come in on pin 4 of the mirror connector and originate at the turn signal flasher box (pin 8 for right, pin 2 for left).
Parking lights come in on pin 9 of the mirror connector and originate at the tail light relay.

Not too terrible if you can read a schematic and work with wires. Impossible if you can't.

Pretty sure it was just 3 wires and no I can't read Schematic or do I work with wires. So lets ask another question; if I were to get a shop to do this (not a Toyota dealership) how much would you'll think it would cost?

Thanks for all the advice by the way.....

Does your 2010 have the tow package?

No, My original sticker doesn't say anything about a tow package. It only says distributor installed options; Drop hitch w/ Ball Mount. Guess I'll just have to get someone to wire it up, or leave it as is. I really like the tow mirrors. I had those ugly clamp on extension mirrors when I would pull my RV, but those things are a joke, go to fast or hit a bump they start to slide off.

I'm busy at the moment but without looking it up I think all the functions of the tow mirrors work if you have the tow package. I know when I got my 14' all the 5.7's had the "tow package". Not sure if all the 2nd gen 5.7's had it by default.

His earlier post said the plug only had 3 wires, which makes me think the truck isn't wired for the extra options from the factory. My 2017 had 7 wires even though the only options were heat and power adjust. Once I installed the tow mirrors I gained blinkers and running lights. The OEM tow mirrors have 6 prongs on the plug, leading me to believe the extra wire is for BSM. None of this is verified thru a wiring schematic, but it is just my observations.

My guess would be 2-3 hours of labor.
