Carista OBD2

So I picked up the Carista obd2 for Papa Smurf and of course the first thing I turned off was the fake v8 noise. There are other things that can be done too

 

Where do you buy this device at?

 

it doesn’t show Toyota because the deal with European cars. You can select what ever. There are other plugs on Amazon you can use. I bought this for the free month trial. With the app

I have a Bluetooth OBD2 adapter from another brand. Do you think it will work with the Carista app?

 

Can you grab a screen shot from Carista of all the features it can change on a 2022? It would be really helpful for the community!

 

I know for sure it can turn on the "Windows/Sunroof Down with Fob" and I think even the "Windows Down/Up with Key" among other things... Unfortunately, it does NOT appear to have the option to leave the sunroof out of the "Windows Down with Fob" equation, which CAN be done in Techstream. My dealership said they couldn't figure it out, but it was figured out here by another member. If this thing could do it, I would buy it just for that haha...

Also will let you adjust the temporary turn signal from 3 blinks to 5 or 7... I had the dealership do mine to 5 since 3 isn't enough if you aren't jerking lane to lane...

 

does it have to be plugged in in order to do all these things?

 

for the programming yes. you plug it into to the obd2 port and and start your truck. then open the app and thats where you make the changes. hit save and unplug the plug

 

yes they say it will work with other adapter. the only reason i bought it is because it comes with a free 30 day trial. so i was able to do what i wanted without buying a subscription

I just used my Vpeek adapter to connect and use Carista app. I was able disabled the seat belt chime.

I also got 1 week free trial offer when purchasing in app.

 

Just Carista'd my truck yesterday. Was able to turn off the seatbelt chime, decrease the volume of the parking sensors and turn signal, and set the lane change signal from 3 to 5 flashes. Thing worked pretty well despite it not technically being supported.

 

Hopefully in the future they’ll have an option to disable/reduce the beeping when you walk away from your truck while it’s on. The 8 or 9 beeps is excessive and annoying.

The link provided doesn’t show Toyota as an option for the Carista. Are there different models or are they sold out?

 

It works just fine with the Tundra. Toyota isn't an option in the dropdown box on the website but it works. It's all the same model of Carista module so just select anything and order it.

There are a few things that Carista lacks vs TechStream, but it's a good investment for $40. The one thing I wish it had but doesn't right now is live data. The app won't show live data quite yet. Hopefully, they'll add it one day.

I just thought it was weird that Toyota wasn’t an option on the drop down box when purchasing. Carista needs to get on the ball with their website.

 

Holy crap,

Disabling the passenger seat belt alarm would be a game changer for me!!

 

The rear seat reminder was a big plus as well.
