The only problem with my 2022 Tundra iForce-Max are the speed limits around here. I use very little accelerator and I'm at the speed limit. The acceleration is very responsive and if I do give a little pedal, even half way down, I'm way over the limit. That 10 speed transmission is butter smooth, and the hybrid engine really makes stops and starts smooth. Tundra.jpg

Mines not a hybrid but I have the same issue. Just a little skinny pedal and you are at or above the posted limit lol.

Lol congrats OP! Like RLHOK, I don't have a hybrid, but going up mountain passes in Sport mode is super fun. I could only imagine the ride in a hybrid!

The stock wheel and tires don't help with getting a feel for how fast you're going, either. I constantly have to keep an eye on the cluster to make sure I'm going the speed limit as well haha

Is there any basis for this assertion? Toyota has an excellent reliability record.

No it’s just internet chatter. If I get another Tundra it will probably be a hybrid. Enjoy:thumbsup:

Toyota sells plenty of turbo engines world wide with no difference in reliability.

Lmao it’s incredible that people think turbos are some sort of new venture.
There’s shit loads of cars on the road around the world with hundreds of thousands of miles on them with OEM turbos, etc.
It’s not a race car where the turbo and/or engine needs to be replaced or rebuilt every other year or something.

If you keep your foot barely on it, you can stay in battery for a good ways. When I pull in my subdivision, I accelerate under engine to just over speed limit, then let off and revs drop to zero, then I feather the peddle to keep it on battery the rest of the way home. At least a mile or so. Same thing on the way out and happens a lot of other places you go where youre under 50mph or so I have found. Im easily averaging 18-19mpg combined. Have seen 21mpg on interstate.
Congrats again on the capstone. She’s a beauty!

My 2018 got 11.4L/100km once. It was while parked on a moving ferry.

    Seriously though, that's nice mileage.

I don't have a hybrid but I have a similar experience. Right after I got mine I drove it on a 1,000 mile road trip, mostly on highway 395 which goes through lots of open space without many other cars. It would feel like we were going 45 but the speedometer was reading 75-80 and I was barely using the gas pedal. When I accelerate to pass I hit 90 very quickly and easily, even up steep hills. It cracks be up when I read the endless bUt ITs nOt a v8 comments because this truck far surpasses the V8's. Then you get wAiT 100k MiLeS aNd YoUL'l sEe.... OK I guess we will see. But right now this truck's powertrain and transmission are phenomenal.

I reset my mpg and then coasted downhill from the local ski resort to home and barely touched the accelerator and took a photo at the bottom when it read 64 mpg. Lol.

Sweet. I wouldn't get 64 MPG falling out of a plane. The roof top tent would act as a sail.

I started at Mt Bachelor and ended in Bend last weekend and got high 40s. My wife had to open the door and clear the trip report before I got a picture.

Not sure how I ended up so high. I'll look for the photo. I live right at where Century hits town so barely pressed the gas. Just coasted. It's funny that we're all doing this. Nerds.

I got 18mpg today in the rain and wind for 320 miles with cruise constantly set 77mph back to Louisiana from Alabama. I should add that this was with 3 adults and 2 tweens/children and a bed full of backpacks and suitcases.

I dont see how anyone with the hybrid isnt getting 18-21mpg on average. I get 18 or better not even trying, and in a TRD Pro which I think is supposed to be slightly worse.

I agree, that's why I use cruise control just about every time I drive anywhere! It is a smooth driving truck, that's for sure....not as smooth as the Ram 1500, but smooth. (I couldn't keep that truck out of the shop either:frusty:)

I agree with you!! This truck is fast!! Wont be long before I get pulled over. I drove the regular I-Force engine which is nice but the I-Force Max is on a different level!!
