    I cant find any info on what the factory TRD/BBS wheels offset is. Im taking a gamble to see. I figure I already have 285/60/18s so that is around (a little less actually) than 33” tall and right at 11.5” wide.
    Going to 35x12.5 should add an inch to top and bottom and 1/2” to each side on width. Doesn’t seem like a lot but Im about to find out.
    I eyeballed it and told tire guys to fucking send it. :rofl:

    Ok, results are in.
    On the factory TRD/BBS wheel, there is about 3/4” between inner sidewall and the upper control arm. I didnt get down and feel of the bottom control arm but with tire pressured all the way up it should be okay. Wheels spun freely when lugs were tightened and it was on the lift.
    I will probably go ahead and add a small spacer in order to keep these wheels, but I will know more once I put on the Westcott.
    Also to note, there is no forward rub. There is only a tiny, tiny bit on the back side on the little black mud flaps (only when turning nearly full lock to the outsides, respectively on each side of course) so I may go ahead and take these off.
    As for poke, it is virtually nonexistent. Just about even with the TRD Pro fender flares.

    TL;DR: True 35x12.5s on TRD Pro wheels fit without a lift. Keep in mind the TRD Pro has a theoretical 1” lift from factory though.

    Those wheels look amazing on that color. I mean, they look good on black or white trucks too, but they look like they were made for Army Green. And I’m a Navy vet and can even say that with confidence. :rofl:

    initially plastidiped them and hated it (did a mediocre job), so found a member who took off their platinum badges and re taped them. The platinum/1794 are the exact same badges, just have to pop the plastic welds and clips and swap away. You can buy the badges at the dealer for about $100 each I believe

    37’s look nice, but I’m not going any bigger than 35’s with the Westcott.
    I am going for a tad bit of added capability and clearance off road, as well as making things look more like what I feel the truck should’ve been from the factory; i.e. more in line with something like the Raptor.

    No, my friend. The high ground is good! You have to take the high ground, and think like the old bull.

    I’m feeling generous, and it’s one of those weekend nights, so in addition to the High Ground necessity, I’ll go ahead and hijack the thread temporarily and impart some additional lessons learned from my time in the military. Free of charge! And no, I didn’t make any of these up. I’m not that clever. Just some things that were drilled into me over countless good times.
    :infantry:

    1. Take the high ground or it takes you. This one stands on its own without much need for explanation. Tactically, high ground nearly always has the advantage (only time it doesn’t is if maybe you’re underwater; covert). Even if you think you can set a trap by getting in position in the low ground, you’re using yourself as bait (not fun) and you’re probably going to have to rely on the real deal high ground to save your ass: Call in an airstrike. :goingcrazy:

    2. If the mission is going as planned, it’s an ambush. (this applies to everyday life and everyday activities. always expect the unexpected; so that there is no unexpectedo_O)

    3. Two is one, and one is none. This literally applies to almost everything and every item or piece of gear/equipment in life. Always have a backup. Except for females, of course… and some other items that are most definitely in the fine print that having two of is just bad news. :rofl:

    4. Slow is steady and steady is fast. This applies to countless tasks so as not to add risk or miss any steps. Another way to say it is Dont run to your death. Even when I was a police officer I had to remind myself of this. I had the urge to race 100mph to alert tone calls or officer needs assistance calls especially. If I die on my way, though, how am I going to help?
    Driving is an easy way to explain it in general though. Driving 85 or 90 on a trip instead of 75 is going to save you how many minutes over the course of that trip??
    Do the math. It’s usually not worth it unless it’s a life or death matter, but even then, how many times do you want to roll the car or truck?
    I taught my daughter how to drive with this mindset: “Dad, there’s no speed limit posted here in the neighborhood, how fast can I go?” Drive as fast as you want to hit something, or as fast as you want to run over a kid chasing a ball. :notsure:
    “Hey Dad, I know it’s 70 on the interstate here but can I go 80?” Go as fast as how many times you want to roll the car, sweetie. :bored:

    5. Last one for the night… Always have an “out.” This one isn’t about being a creative asshole to come up with a reason not to do something, either. lol. It means always have a plan in your head and consider the consequences or possibilities.
    I call it playing the What If Game. “If I do this, what could happen.” “If I sit here in this restaurant/food court/ whatever, and someone comes in shooting, which way or exit am I getting us out of?” Or even something as simple as “If we get shit-faced, how are we getting home safely?” (and no, driving with one eye closed is not SOP…)

    So see? The bulls on the hill have all the advantage. They have the high ground so they can observe all the cows down in the valley. The old bull of course keeps the young bull from running down to his quick finish. Slow down and get them all, right? Smooth like… The high ground also gives them an out. If they feel like it’s a possible ambush down there, it probably is. They can easily just stand there until they decide on what to do, or not to do. And having that option between two or more things is better than having only one option or no options.

    So no rubbing with a true 12.50? I watched the 37s video that wescott put out and the falken 37s came out to like a 12.9 wide and barely rubbed the back so I’m pretty confident once you get the lift on it’s going to remedy everything out. I have the 285 75s on order but now y’all got me thinking of going wider and taller if they clear. Great looking truck! I didn’t have the guts to try stuffing them without the lift in yet. Haha

    All fair points but the story does have a fundamental flaw. Bulls have a finite use of 5 years or so. There are no old bulls.

    Every manufacturer is going to be a tad different I am sure, so check listed inflated specs. According to Nitto, mine are a true 12.5” (section width) but section height is actually 34.76”

    Remember that this (section width and height) is calculated without any load on it. So once on your truck it is going to widen a tad and “smush” down a tad also.

    Another thing is your section width can vary slightly depending on your wheel size as well. I have them on an 8” wheel, but they would increase slightly in size if on a 9” for example. It is minuscule, but on stock ride height at the moment every millimeter counts! And you’re right, none of it will be an issue with the Westcott.

    interesting. I have 18s on now, they are ok but the tires ugh ya they gotta go.

    I like the bronze methods, but would also lean towards a trd wheel in 18 inch.
