I go to the Weathertech Invitational every year. Not a Tundra meetup! But that would be cool!

Yeah, it looks like yours don't fit very well. Mine were nice and tight fitting, and the thicker tape only made it stand off about 1/16", which I was fine with. They do have slightly different profiles for the two sides, I noticed this when test fitting mine before install, make sure they aren't backwards.

Kind of late now since one is on the side of the highway somewhere :D

Seems odd? Did they make different L/R emblems for the truck? That seems like a lot of work, unless the body is somehow not balanced side to side?

Now that I am thinking about it, I believe there where L/R markings, as the back profile is slightly slanted. Didn't even notice until I test fit and saw the huge gap, then switched them...

This is the seller I got mine from, definitely not the cheapest of the batch but everything was good quality. His page has all sorts of different packs, could probably get just the 5.7 badges.

I'll check it out...one catch is I've got a Rock Warrior, which from what I've found is de-badged from the factory, so the only emblems I have are the 5.7 and the Flex Fuel on the back...

I taped off and plastidip’d my badges. They turned out great IMO.

I just did this as well, but I didn’t care for how they came out. The can I had was messed up I think bc it was spraying globs at times.

I ended up just debadging the sides. I did leave the back one on though (for now) bc it came out decent enough

Im terrible with painting though. Any tips for the future?

Fill a bucket with warm/hot water and put the can in the bucket for a few minutes. Then shake can well for a minute before spraying.

I usually try to find some random little kid to hand them to and tell them to make as much noise as they can until their arms fall off.

Agree, sounds like your paint/plastidip was too cold.

Pulled off the "good" cover last night and switched sides...didn't fit there either, so it's an issue with the overlay itself, not me simply being stupid (though it's been known to happen).

The up side is the seller refunded me, saying they may not be for my vehicle. I'm not certain what other options there would be though for Toyota using the 5.7L badge on anything else...

Color matched my grille today, far from perfect but much better than the chrome

I don't know, but honest opinion, perhaps chrome looked better:washing:with that chrome bumper, it looks like something is missing now. I am sorry.

My guess is he’s planning on changing that chrome bumper too.

Too many mods to list right now for both Tundra
Its been awhile since I been on the forum. But I've done so many mods on the 2nd Gen that its completely overhaul, even the engine and exterior.
Rhino line the full exterior. Customize my own headlamp. Light bars 270 degrees on the rear. and the list goes on.

I got the rhino line flat finish from a local small business here in Riverside, Ca for $3k full exterior and inside the bed. If you want interior trim, I believe its an extra $500. But let me know if you need his contact.

Got the Michelin Defenders installed today, much smoother ride than the Coopers.

Of course some will not like them because they are not a “manly” “aggressive” tire but to each his own.

I think they look great and will last as long have this truck.n

I am on the fence, I left the black on the drivers side, mainly because it’s a pain in the ass to get off.

I may just leave it that way.

I don’t mind the clean up. Were all trucks painted underneath? That’s part of my fear is that I start peeling and they are not painted.
