I have a 2000 tundra v8. For awhile now my dash lights have been very dim. I decided to replace them with some led lights. T10 I believe. Took the dash apart and replaced the lights it was all pretty straight forward. Now though only the gas gauge and temp gauge have a light. Speedo, rpm and oil pressure have none… and NOW it developed a new problem where when I turn my headlights on and the clock goes out and the light for ac/the air circulating light for the cab. I read the dimmer switch might cause problems but mine still dims the one gauge light that’s working. I think that my lights haven’t been working this whole time and the little light I had was bleed over from the gas gauge light. Anyone ran into this problem before? I’m not super savvy with electrical work..

Before giving suggestions, you are aware LEDs have polarity right? If installed backwards, they absolutely won't put out light.

If you're not aware of this, it probably sounds like I'm pulling your leg, but I'm not. For any light not working, take it out, rotate 180 degrees and reinstall. Test again.

Repeat for all non-working lights and get back to us.

If you already know this, I might've misunderstood. That's a straight-up wall of text with no breaks. Carriage returns matter.

@shifty` is on top of your problem including punctuation. All I got is their are probably a lot of folks with their fuel light coming on with these god awful prices.

Sorry for the poor punctuation I am writing on my phone and was being lazy, I appreciate the response though.

I didn’t know that about led lights. I took the panel back out and switched the lights around. It looks like another one lit up but I’m going to have to wait until it gets a little darker before I’ll know for sure. Hopefully that’s all it is! That’d be an easy bonehead mistake to fix

Easy, but not boneheaded. It's just one of those factoids where, when you learn it, it's usually the hard way, and it's usually your first time doing a lot of LED lights.

    We all gotta start somewhere.

Yeah you were right. Took it apart this evening and everything lit up after turning the lights 180. I appreciate the help. I thought I was going to have to find a whole new instrument panel or something.

Nah, just the nature of LEDs. Lesson learned, now you're well-equipped to help the next person. The torch has been passed :D

Interesting to stumble across this thread on the same day that I replaced my cheap Chinese LEDs in my instrument panel. I did this about five or six plus years ago. They started to flicker which is what cheap Chinese bulbs do. (hell.... all of them are made in China so who am I kidding?!?!) Anyway, I figure that I'll get another four plus years out of this next set of cheap bulbs. I have heard that Super Brite or Bright LEDs sells quality bulbs but have not purchased from them. My stuff was from Ebay years ago. They are not hard to change, just time consuming.
