Been using Android Auto on my Platinum and it's happened a few times. I'll be driving and Google maps will freeze, so I'll hit the 2nd from the top left button, which switches to Spotify as the main screen and Google Maps as the secondary. When I click back to make Google Maps the primary screen, it is just black. I can switch back to Spotify and navigate Spotify no problem.

Has anyone else had this issue? My only fix has been disconnecting my phone and reconnecting. I am guessing it's an Android Auto issue, but wasn't sure.

[EDIT] I have the Galaxy S21

I just took a trip over the weekend and ran into this exact issue twice. Had to hold the power button to reset the system to get it to come back. I just looked and noticed that the map hadn't updated in like 20 miles worth of driving or something, and did exactly what you did by switching a different app and back to the map, and it was blank.
I have a Pixel 6 Pro, since I am sure somebody will ask.

I have Samsung S22 Ultra, I faced a strage issue yesterday.

My phone was connected via wireless AA and everything was running fine. I happened to pick the phone yo check on some messages while waiting in the queue for car wash and it disconnected. Through settings on the multimedia screen, I saw the option to connect the phone - which I tried but did not work. I reatarted the phone but still it did not automatically reconnect or gave me the option to do so either. I had to completely shurt the enhine and then reatart the car for the connection to work again.

I have had it disconnect a few times too. Usually it will reconnect, but 1 time it didn't, and I was on a roadtrip, so once I had stopped for gas and shut the truck off, it connected when I turned it back on.

Same for me. I have had this issue with Acura MDX for some 2-3 times in my 10 months of ownership. What is concerning with Toyota was that it happened on the second day of driving. Anyways, hopefully it wont turn into a very frequent issue

the only question i have is when you connect with a newer samsung are you connecting with a static mac address or the standard setup where it randomizes the mac address?

you have to go into the wifi connection to manually set it to connect with the phone using the phone mac address.

i am guessing since your phone mac address is constantly changing everytime it connects the head unit is getting lost on your phone connecting since it thinks its new phone every time.

    just a wild guess

edit : its a great feature to have when you connect to public wifi spots since it will never see the same phone mac address twice and be able to somewhat track you. flipside, its a pita when you manage your clients connecting on your personal network (i force the spouse and myself to a certain vlan based on the phone mac address) and the kids when they visit i dump them to the guest network since i dont track the phone mac address.

see attached pic circled in yellow ...

Thanks for the response. In my case - what happened was - AA was connected wirelessly and phone via cable as well. I picked up the phone for some reason and it got disconnected.

I think this weekend - I would delete the profile and reset it again. I read on some other thread where someone was facing issues with connections due to incorrect set up of profile. I doubt its to do with static or dynamic MAC address

I had to delete the dealer profile out of my truck when I bought it so I could setup my own. It was probably the worst designed process I have ever seen. Hope you don't have as much trouble as I did.
