Looks like the Toyo AT2 are the best tires for the price.

All three of these tires look great. Love those R/T's, they don't make them in 275/65r18...

I have the RT's in the 35x12.5x18. They have been great the first few months.

Hold the Line! If you are not holding the line, abandon your ship. Destruction is inevitable without more to hold the line!
I am thinking about purchasing BF Goodrich Ko2 AT tires for the Tundra. I am just slightly concerned with their On-road wet conditions performance. Specifically I have heard that they Hydroplane badly. I am not sure if this is true or not, I mean it is the internet. Does anyone have any experience with these tires?

What is their longevity like (how many miles) should I expect out of them? Realistically they will be used for 95% highway driving.

Above all, my main concern is hydroplaning. If you do not recommend the BF Goodrich Ko2's what tire would you recommend?

KO2 have been great to me. Handle well in snowy conditions and rain too even though it doesn't rain much in Colorado. I don't drive the truck much so I couldn't tell you about longevity, but seem to hold up well. Handle great off road too.

I'll second this. I have 10k on mine. Dry wet ice snow mud and once DEEP silty mud. The deep silty stuff was a little squirrelly but I got out.
We get lake effect snow and rain here. Sometimes 4-6"/hour (and whatever the rain equivalent is too). I'm pretty cautious in that stuff because you can get in real bad shape quick. But I'm also confident because the truck is a Toyota Tundra and the tires have proven themselves to get me there and back again. When you can't see past the hoodbulge and you're driving using your GPS screen you don't want to worry about your tires. I have not yet.

I am on my 2nd set of BFG. Got almost 50,000 miles on the first set. They lasted longer than I would have thought, and wore well. Never noticed any problems with any road condition. Doesn't mean they wouldn't break traction with too much skinny pedal. But that would be any tire.

    I appreciate the reply.

Nice, very good to know. I did not realize the snow in NY could get that bad. Driving by GPS...Sheesh
Well that settles it, BFG K02 here I come. Also did anyone notice a MPG difference and if so by how much?

Couldn't tell ya since I moved up to 35s, so I'm sure that is more of a factor vs the tire itself. Also, my truck is a garage queen so not much life experience for her. I save the miles and tires for the fun stuff :)

yeah man. We're in the opposite corner of the state from NYC. Basically Canada. Right on Lake Ontario.

I went up a size (275/65 stock -> 275/70 bfgs) maybe added 5lbs to each corner. If anything I lost less than .5mpgs.

Completely bone stock right? I am getting 275/70's and I am 99% sure there will be no issues. I hope!

    No problem!

    I'd look hard at 305/65r18 size. 33.2" vs 33.6" diameter. 10.8" vs 12.1" width.

Every once in a while I'll look at my truck and think the 275s are too skinny. The super aggressive sidewall of the KO2s makes up for that and 90% of the time looks perfect to me.

I'm not in the market for new tires yet, but when I am, I'll be looking hard at what all I need to do to stuff the 305/65s in there. (Hopefully nothing more than a heat gun and possibly some 6112's on a low or medium setting). I think the extra inch of width distributed over the stock trd rim will look perfect in my opinion.

I'm inclined to think you'd need 1.25" spacers to keep em from rubbing.

I've read that too. My UCAs (stock) have about a thumb width between the tire and the end of the UCA currently. I'm thinking a half inch maximum more of tire in that direction will still leave me with a half inch of room.

This is with the wheel straight on. I don't know enough to know if that geometry changes when the tires turn with steering.

For anyone considering new tires I just happened to Google ST Maxx prices and Wal Mart popped up as a search result. They have a good price on them AND THEN I saw this - pickup discount - thing. Well, I just ordered a set of 275/70/18's for $616 picked up at Wal Mart. I didn't look at other tire makes but it might be worth a shot if anyone is on the fence. @csuviper Screen Shot 2017-07-08 at 12.02.10 PM.jpg

Dude....thanks so much for the heads up on this. I just placed my order for exact tires and had the same savings! Made my decision to pull the trigger that much less painful..(I.e. Convinced the wife!!!).

Thanks again for posting this...I owe you a beer.

Pretty sure they are D rated in the size I need. Really want to go E rated this time.
