I've tried in vain to get my 1794 optioned with tow mirrors to no avail. It's a region thing apparently. There are limiteds in region with tow mirrors but not platinums or 1794s. I still don't understand the answers I'm given but here I am.

The wiring harness has to be there. So I'm wondering if it's a matter or buying the switch panels and the mirrors. Has anyone looked into this?

I also wonder how hard/ easy it is to switch mirrors. Being in Canada Toyota made it so limited and lower only get small ones and Platinum, 1794, and capstone ONLY come with tow mirrors and I'd rather have the smaller ones on my platinum :( Don't ever tow anything but we don't get a choice for alot of stuff sadly. Bright side is truck should be here soon thou

With a vehicle this large I prefer to have larger mirrors. Clearly though to each their own.

Sounds like if you get two willing parties; one for the US who wants tow mirrors and one in Canada who doesn’t want tow mirrors…

Can anyone confirm the wiring harnesses being there? I am in the same spot as the OP, but am thinking just get the small mirrors and find someone who wants to trade later.
If I can't do this then I may have to search for the truck out of state, I tow 4 to 5 times a week during the summer and love my 08 tow mirrors.

It won’t plug and play, slide out function specially or auto dim feature is on passenger side on standard mirror, both side for tow mirror.

Physical connector is different, wiring and relay for power extension and outer mirror light doesn’t exist on standard mirror model.

Interesting note. I'm surprised the wiring is different. Are you comparing actual trucks or wiring harness pictures?

I have Toyota tow mirrors and the dash switch on order. Will update after parts show up and I install.

The mirrors don't come in until October 10th. I've also ordered the dash switch. I'll let everyone know after I make some progress.

Was at the dealership today talking to them about my lift and service manager said the tow mirrors might require multiple different harnesses. The dash might have to get removed. This shoots down my theory of more common harnesses. If that's the case I might not pursue this whole thing. I'm not going to have them rip my dash out for this. It's a little discouraging but I'll let people know what I hear.

I pulled this panel out to see what was behind there on my Limited, they all have connectors on the backside except for the First Switch second row. That would be TRD Light Bar or Power Running Boards... On mine, it is just a blank. I'm guessing the tow mirror wires/connections are there.

Really interested to see what options exist here, particularly OEM. Really only concerned with retaining the power mirror adjust. Power extend, cameras and auto dimming are all firmly in the "nice to have" column for a truck mirror IMO.

Maybe Toyota will make a patch harness....

Sorry to hear bud... I was able to snag a 1794 with tow mirrors up here in the NE (Purchased in Maine). Haven't heard of the regional thing... The vast majority of 22's I've seen up here do NOT have tow mirrors.

Can you let me know how you removed that switch panel? I'm wanting to get to the back of the Auto-stop disable switch.

Yeah I looked into getting one from NE for a hot minute. We'll see how this shakes out.

Passed on a non-tow truck today just in case this doesn't shake out, I'll have to order one and wait.

Nope but there is a guy who went the full factory route. It cost him 6k and a lot of parts/effort/dealer work.

I went from tow mirrors to standard. Bought the standard mirrors and harnesses from another truck and had dealer install when my truck came in with Tow Mirrors. The dealer was unable to get all the mirrors calibrated to factory spec so the Birds Eye camera doesn’t work correctly which is annoying. Also the back up trailering function is lost. Hoping they can fix next time it is in for service.
