DF501697-6075-47E7-9677-91228396EEDF.jpg Hey guys, as much as I wanna ask about wheels, tires, suspension, etc, I think I should figure out the cab first. This time it’s about the screen. How do I add apps there? I’ve seen a couple of YT videos, but it never works for me. I can’t even find the Entune app- only the Toyota one. All I have navigate wise is the traffic app, and scout gps. I believe there is a “navigation” app, and I’m hoping it will show me a map view instead of just the turns like scout gps. Any advice?

The basic Entune HU, you can't add apps to, I HAD that in my 2014.
You have to have at least Entune Premium (with navigation) to be able to add apps.

You'll find that in the 2017 Entune System Quick Reference Guide, on page 4, in this link.

Looks like you have Audio Plus with connected navigation.
But you can't add apps to it..:(

Ultimately replacing the shit Entune HU, with a decent aftermarket HU with a wireless phone connection and an iData Maestro interface, is the way to go.
That way you can have wireless carplay or Android Auto and run Waze or whatever for your navigation thru your phone..

So it sounds like I can’t have that “following map view” like other systems do? It’s whatever… don’t need to spend the extra money on a small feature. Doubt it can be fixed, but why does music from Apple Music sound wayyyy better and louder than Spotify (for ex)?. It’s not that way in any other vehicles I’ve been in.

I have no idea why Apple sounds better.
I know Siruis/XM sounds better thru the app than the satellite feed.

Sirius is the only music 'app' (on Carplay) or internet source I use.
80% of the time I shuffle the 5K songs on my iPhone thru wireless Carplay..

I upgraded my entire audio system in my 2014 SR5 after years of trying to make the Entune fit my needs.
HU, amp, speakers, and sub, there is nothing stock left..

    Enjoy your weekend...

It sounds tempting, but the sound is decent enough for me. I think I’ll put my money into wheel/tires/suspension, but that’s for another day. Thanks for helping me out. This Tundra group has been saving my ass, and will continue to do so haha. I appreciate it all.

I think it’s stuff like IHeartRadio, Navigation, and a couple others. Of course when someone’s asking about it I can’t find any results on google:mad:. I believe if you have all the apps downloaded it’ll take up just under a page and a half on the Apps section. I’ve seen a couple Tundras have them all downloaded from factory, and some that don’t have jack. There’s a couple of YT videos out there.

Thanks, found this. Completely underwhelming lol, not even going to bother. I mounted a tablet above my head unit that I use. https://youtu.be/8462iqk_Xz0
