Does anyone know if the anytime camera will work on the new trucks? The website says compatible with newer than 2020 Toyotas. That’s a pretty broad statement.

So if they are working on one, and it's not available yet, then how is anyone here supposed to know if they will work? Just curious.

    Gents,

I have designed the changes required to add the FRAC Harness to the 22 Tundra and the other ‘22 vehicles with the MTM or PVM systems. However, Toyota changed the connectors for all the camera feeds and those connectors are not yet commercially available. I can’t even get them directly from Toyota. So a plug and play solution is not yet available for those vehicles.

The FRAC Harness is compatible with 2014 - 2021 models. Although the ‘20-‘21 vehicles use different connectors and pin-outs.

I'm going to be one of the first people to get your harness once it becomes available!

Any update on this? Brian from Anytime sent me a few connectors to try out but unfortunately none of them worked, and I don’t have the technical skills to troubleshoot effectively. If anybody in NY wants to reach out to him, I’m sure he’d love to have a local truck to work on. I’m in Fort Worth, TX so available to assist with any FRAC harness testing if needed @TundraTex

From their website (assuming it's theirs)

"Our harnesses allow you to view your factory backup camera at any time with the push of a button! We also offer a kit which will allow you to add a front facing camera and view it at any time."

I have a view camera button on my platinum that does this, at least for the bed view when moving but will check the backup cam tomorrow. I know it locks out the others though, and goes away after 15-30 seconds...

I dont get the point of this, we already have a button that does this, unless thats a 360 camera thing only.

When in motion, pushing the button only keeps the camera on screen for a short time and is limited to the bed or backup cam views (checked today). Bypassing the delay or getting access to other cameras like front and under mirrors (front/rear) would be nice when going off-road, but would think this could be a software patch vs new hardware

Toyota decided to make the Tundra extra special and change all the connectors for the camera inputs to a part that is not publicly available. I can't even order it from a Toyota dealer. The '22+ 4-Runners, Tacomas, etc... still utilize the '20-21 connector for the rear cam and then add the new connectors for the vehicles with MTM or PV. So the FRAC Harness will not yet work on '22 Tundras.

My design is ready to go for the '22, I just need the connectors! I'm scouring sources weekly to look for them and as soon as they are available, I will start building the '22 version. And Tundras.com members will be the first to know!

It’s beneficial for those of us who only have the rear camera and want to add a front one. My buddy added one in his Tacoma and it was helpful when hitting the trails. Don’t think it would really benefit people who already have the cameras all around.

This can be accomplished via hardware (i.e. FRAC Harness with the VSM) but I need the video connectors to make it plug and play. OEM functionality would remain the same but utilizing the FRAC Camera switch would allow anytime (for as long as you want) display of the cam view.

Bu I’ll be glad to purchase as soon as it’s available.

I think the problem continues to be that Toyota changed the connectors to some type of proprietary design and none of the aftermarket companies have been able to source the connectors. Toyota has not started selling the connectors (that I've heard) as separate part number yet.

Side note: @TundraTex has retired and is closing up the FRAC shop (if you didn't see his thread in the A/V sub-forum). Looks like it'll be up to Anytime to bring something to market, if they're able to eventually get their hands on the connectors to create a production unit for sell.

There are only two ways to build a plug and play solution for the 2022+ Tundras... Either Toyota or the connector manufacturer needs to make the connectors available for retail customers or someone would need to develop an aftermarket version/clone. I still monitor various parts sources to keep an eye out for those connectors. If they eventually become available, and a demand still exists, I may fire up the FRAC assembly line again. Time will tell

I seriously had this same thought lol I haven't dug into my dash to see the connectors yet but thought about taking a stab at it when I get to that point. I got a 3D printer for Christmas last year and printed some nicknacks but nothing really too useful.
