What do you like about your camera vs. The Toyota dashcam?

I have the same camera mounted same location but my GPS suction mount has the power in on the side and not the end like yours. I wired in the Vantrue hardwire kit to the Toyota connector and power it up on the plug above the headliner console. My truck some times sits for weeks in the garage and this prevents the battery from going dead. The hardwire kit box is small like 1x2 inches. Plenty of room in the headliner for it.

I had this dash cam from my previous vehicle. I didn't feel like paying for the OEM when I had this one.

I installed a pair of Pelican BX55S Cargo Cases today for organizing gear and added a Pelican 70QT cooler for camping and storing meat for hunting season.

The cargo cases are mounted using Pelican's saddle case bed mounts. Unfortunately, the Pelican saddle mounts didn't come with the necessary t-nuts and screws. I had to order from McMaster-Carr a set of 8 t-nuts and 1-inch 5/16"-18 TORX screws to install the saddle mounts to the factory bed rails. Do not buy the t-nuts from Amazon with the 3/8" screws. They will not work with the Pelican saddle mounts.

You might have luck finding someone who will make you one on Etsy?

Or buy a blank golf towel and see if a local print shop will put the logo on for you

I switched over my "go bags" from my Jeep. Might have to alter them some to make them fit better but it is a good start20221009_130420.jpg

I went with a single BX85, I like it. I used the same saddle mounts but ordered the Cali Raised Toyota rail adapters to attach them. It works well.

I've thought about getting one of those coolers but I live close enough to where I hunt that I don't think I need them. Depending on which trail head I go in from, it's either a 27 minute or 48 minute drive.

When you say rail adapters, are they something else other than T-nuts and screws?

How were you able to make them work? Did you have to mod the saddle mounts a bit? The 3/8" bolts do not fit the slots on the saddle mounts that connect to the rails? The ones that work are the M8 and 5/16-18 bolts. The problem I have with the T-nuts is that the 7/8" base is a bit narrow in my opinion. I wish the base were 1" wide.

I just started turning them and they went in. They are BARELY larger than the slots in the mount

Today I traded in the Black Tundra for a RAV4 XLE for my grandparents. My grandmother had some complaints of the truck being too big for 2 old people who were only 5’3. She’s much happier with a smaller car. My grandfather was sad tho. He wanted to keep the truck.
Keeping my white one tho. :D

I don’t know why I even wrestled with this decision. I received and assembled my AJT Fob today. This should be a no brainer.

    100% agree.
Was just thinking that I wanted to order another one for the spare. I was hoping they would come out with off the wall colors.

    Lots of DIY stuff
Speakin of fobs, has anyone had issues with theres not reaching very far? Mine seems to only work up to about 20 feet. Maybe theres already a thread somewhere. And I'm definitely ordering one of these covers.

Yes was just about to post something similar but wanted to try it with my OE fob first. I'll compare and report back in a bit.

WELL.... Range isn't the issue. At least not for me. Line of site and low-pitched chirp are my issue. From my back door, I can barely hear the chirp and cannot see the lights. If I go on faith, it's starts every time with AJT fob cover and OE.

Honest question - looks good but Other than matching the color of your truck / being a little different - what makes it so great?

For me, the OE fob feels way to delicate or fragile. This cover is a little beefier and doesn't feel like it will shatter under my thighs when I hop in and out of the truck.

It isn’t boring like the factory FOB. I like the colors. It feels more sturdy. It looks cool. All these things. There isn’t anything more functional about it.

This may sound weird but I swear it works. Point you're fob up at your chin towards your head. You should get some extra range. Something to do with your head acting as a sinusoidal antenna

Finally got the last of the badges off. I love the look without those. Besides, as someone else said, I know it's a Tundra.
Simple work with plastic scraper, Goo Gone, fingernail, wax, and UndrDog. Looks great - to my eye at least.
