What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Yeah, the dealership probably installed that shortly after the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI). F'n dealerships install that aftermarket crap and market it up like crazy. It's "new" but molested when dealerships add those packages...such BS ...Full disclosure I was a dealership tech for 10 years and hold that opinion.

 

Does the 'pod' have any identifying numbers, branding, etc. on the bottom of it? If I remember right, another member started a thread earlier this year w/a similar unexpected find. I believe he bought the vehicle used (private party), was working on something under the dash, and came across something similar tied into the wiring. Anyhow, in his case, someone figured out the brand and purpose of the 'pod', and it ended up being a GPS unit used to track the vehicle's whereabouts in the event of a theft.

I tried to search for that thread, but I couldn't find it. I'm not very good at searching things on here, but either way I would have done the same thing and pulled it out as well. No need for random unknown shit to be tied into your wiring.

 

I briefly glanced at it and didn't notice any identifiers. The underside has 3m tape. I'll peel it back tmrw and take a look. Aside from that the wires slso have no marking (gauge, rating or otherwise). Had the truck for years and just noticed it. Ha, wonder what else I'm going to find.

A few more from the snow run. Also, I swapped my buddy my ray10s for his 17” method 701. Digging the bronze on my truck.

 

No pics but just rolled 10K miles on it. After installed Diamondback cover last weekend, I realized that having to use 2 keys was a pain in the ass, so I installed oem tailgate power lock. Easy peasy. Now to wait for Bedrug to arrive.

I noticed a similar noise after installing my TRD skid plate.
I took a peice of a rubber floor mat and stuck it between the frame and the plate.




Although when I installed my Vahalla Sheilds in July, I omitted that rubber piece.
This time I slid a nylon washer between the skid and cat plates.
I haven't heard any noises yet..

 

So I didn't have to take off my hook...

Time for the emergency bottle opener mod..

 

I have noise with my TRD skid plate and Valhalla plates after they were on for a while. Waiting till my truck is due for oil change and have my mechanic put something between the plates.

 

Maybe try some thick nylon washers, I got them at Lowes.
If I did it over again, I'd put them between the frame and the cat shield, then the cat shield and the skid plate.
It's only been a few months, but no noises so far.

I made it.
It was leftover 0 ga KnuKonceptz cable from my amp install.
The 0ga was overkill, but I wanted to keep my options open for a distribution block and 2 amps.

I clamp the crimper down in a vise to seat it.

Dealership should sell this fix in the parts dept and service should throw it on no charge when they do the oil change… Has worked for me for about the last 6mos and about 3500 miles - good luck.

 

Thanks Troy, Yeah I know about this. But with having the Vahalla plates the Toyota dealer will probably say there causing the problem. I feel good about my mechanic fixing the problem. It’s not that bad so I don’t mind waiting till my oil change is due and then fix the noise. My other mechanic who services my Z06 and probably will do my westcott lift said he has stuff to put between the skid plate and Valhalla plates to stop the noise. So if I have him do the lift it might happen then because of dropping the skid.

 

In my little Scion, there was nonsense like this for the illuminated sill plates and under dash illumination. They were options added at port.

Please provide before and after pics/measurements of Westcott lift as my kids got me that last XMas or birthday or something and I’ve been waiting to install as I’m trying to figure out what I will be towing down the road and the slight rake might level out with some weight back there…if the stock market ever decides to get me back in the black we may just go with a van and then lift and oversized tires here I come!!

Rotated tires, swapped out the back seat USB port for a USB-C one, and swapped out hardware on my CBI bumper step plates.




Did an oil change and full service (aside from the tire rotation) on Wednesday.

 

Does anyone know where I can get tie rod end boots? Or know the size, so that I can get a universal kit. I ended up putting holes in bother of them when I was installing those Kings yesterday.

 

I just wanna keep looking at it…. Went by the dealership even though we are closed. Should be wrapped up tomorrow afternoon. Noticed the rear shocks also haven’t been installed yet. So shackles, shocks, and alignment to come.
