No LED bulbs installed anywhere..no Mods or upgrades for lights.. I have a 40 watt Kicker stereo Amp thats been there since 2017..same with a 6 inch Bazooka powered sub woofer. AMP Power Steps... Latest were Napa Night Vision Vivid, drivers side out ...Before that were Sylvania, don't recall no receipt, but middle of the road, both low beams were blown.....

Follow up...Be sure when you purchase new bulbs read the warranty, register them on line and keep a copy of the receipt.. I had registered the NAPA Night Vision Vivid bulbs, 2 year warranty.. I filed a warranty claim for them and within days I received new bulbs....

I’ve always heard you should wear gloves when handling incandescent bulbs as the oil from your skin can cause overheating and early failure…

i've had my run of garbage luck with any of those "premium" incandescent offerings. They're definitely brighter than the oem bulbs but are worth much when they last only 5 months. LEDs last regardless of brand.

I had a 2005 Kia spectra 5 speed that would blow the headlamp bulbs every 3 months or so. The headlight terminals would arc for whatever reason. I always used dielectric grease on the connections but for whatever reason it would still arc.

Eventually I ditched the connector and soldered small prongs onto the ends of the wires with extra heat shrinking around them and attached those to the headlights. Fixed my issue. Replacing your connector might do a similar job if you see signs of arcing.

That car went to 225k before I sold it, and it was still running perfectly.

Some Sylvania “high output” incandescent bulbs have extremely short lifespans, as in 120 hours. Are you using those?

Are you using LEDs in an incandescent housing?

I've used the Sylvania zXe silver/blue - lasted about 5.5 years until one crapped out. Changed them both to the gold series zXe. Let's see how long they last, so far look nice and bright. If they last 5 years or so I think that's pretty good. Definitely brighter than stock. They aren't LED so they aren't super expensive, I think like $70-80.

I've bought light bulbs that lasted a few years and then the next batch only a few months. Same brand (Sylvania, etc.) and I never touch the glass.

I think they all have poor quality control.

Also like others said the "brighter" ones have a much shorter lifespan if you read the fine prints.

I have been running Silverstar Ultra's in my trucks, motorcycles and the wife's car for years. I always wipe them down good with alcohol wipes and don't let the bulb touch anything on the way into the socket. They have lasted years in all my applications. I'd like to try LED bulbs but I'm still afraid of the focus/blinding oncoming traffic issues.

    i am yes.
The light scatter certainly isn't perfect but with the headlight motors aimed a little lower its no worse than meeting a car/truck running Sylvania Silverstars and far better than the elderly people that obliviously drive the entire year with their brights on.

I'm not sure about the brights but in order to receive social security payments, you must leave your blinkers on. Not their fault ask the government :oldglory:
