Looks like this thread may be dead, but here it goes anyway: Anybody getting this when looking for Mat's forum?

Thanks, Wynnded. I also can't even get to the download page for the latest tuner software. Says Access Denied with some code. Any idea if Mat is done? Also won't respond to email, but that's nothing new.

I just tested and updated my software, it went fine doing it via the software itself. Did you try that? I'd be surprised if he actually went under. He probably forgot to renew/update a certificate or something silly.

When I click on the VFTuner download button it just takes me to an Access Denied page.

Did you try plugging your cord and your orange OBDII device into your computer then opening the VF Tuner software? If there's an update available, it will let you know.

I opened vftuner on my laptop. I'm running v. 1.4.4. Haven't updated since last Dec. I'm really just looking for direct shift for my ECU/TCU.

Yeah I noticed the forum was down too. I finally received tune packs and have everything updated. But wanted to read some info on how to actually make adjustments to the tune. The tune pack I received has several options and one of the tunes has the words torque management. I just need to figure out what I’m doing

I was told he could not fix my shifting issue because I have 5.29’s and 35’s on my truck. Really? It is all math and now I am told it cannot be done. He also told me with the 2018 ECU at there was more room on it and he could add more options but I got zero options and a shift issue. HUGE disappointment for me

Has anyone done any tuning themselves? If I can't get the direct shift option from Mat, I'm willing to try it on my own. But, as you said, don't want to f*ck something up. I'm pretty happy with the ECU, but if I could make some tweaks to it, that'd be cool, too. Is there a place to start, a tutorial or something, that shows the basics of tuning with his software?

I've messed with mine a bunch, mostly the torque converter lockup and shift points. This has some good info in it:

Just a general question: Does anyone know if the primary way Mat has gotten more power out of the truck is through timing adjustment?

Through your tuning, have you been able to eliminate/diminish shift hang?

Not completely, but I didn't really focus on that specifically. I've adjusted the shift points so that at light throttle it will shift early and above like 30% load it will rev out more, and I adjusted to converter lockup so that it will lock in 4th-6th pretty much immediately and stay locked even if you floor it.

Would you be willing to send a pic of your shift table, just so I can get a general idea of the numbers I can use? I don't want to go too far. But quicker shifts would be nice. Thanks.

I don't have it handy, sorry. All I did from whatever Mat had in the original tune was lower the speeds in the upshift tables below like 30% throttle by something like 10 or 15 kph so that it didn't rev as high at very light throttle. I'm not an expert tuner, so it was a lot of trial and error. Make an adjustment, drive it, adjust, drive, until it was doing what I wanted

From the beginning as soon as I got the gears he added it and he could never get the shift to work correctly. I can just try to merge onto the highway and while the RPM’s raise to make the move into traffic as soon as I let off the gas the RPM’s do not down down they hold. I have a tune I paid for that was never completed and he told me it cannot be changed because of the “weird gear combination” I have. Whatever
